No problem. As I come across books that are set in Canada, I'll put them into whichever province/territory they fit. We may end up with a great resource ourselves.
Rockbound by Frank Parker Day. I read this the year it was the winner of Canada Reads; or, rather, I listened to it on CBC :)
I think Rockbound is what I'm planning to read also. I read Fall on Your Knees when it was an Oprah pick and there was a lot of hype about it. My friends all enjoyed it also and it was a book that we all read super fast.

Rita Joe is a famous Mi'kmaw author in Nova Scotia.
Just discovered another author! D.R. MacDonald, who has several Cape Breton-set books: Lauchlin of the Bad Heart, Cape Breton Road, and All the Men are Sleeping.
This morning, I listened to a recording of Cape Breton's fiddle music, consequently looking up two books about it: Talking Cape Breton Music: Conversations With People Who Love and Make the Music
The Cape Breton Fiddler

Looooooove this kind of music so much. Also "mouth music."
Yes you may, Michelle, since the book is relevant to the group. We love suggestions around here. :) I do ask that, next time you're discussing a book or author, you use the add author/book at the top of the comment box, though. It makes it easier for people to find what you're suggesting. Thanks.
From Away does sound like an interesting book.

Sorry I am new to Goodreads and haven't quite figured it out yet! I see the button you are talking about and will use it next time! Thanks again!
No Great Mischief by Alistair MacLeod is a great read on a Cape Breton family. Some of the stories in his Island: Collected Stories cover Nova Scotia.
What Is Left the Daughter, by Howard Norman takes place in Nova Scotia, mostly in the village of Middle Economy. It's one of my NS reads.
