wow the quality of the images looks amazing Mel, where did you get the footage from (assuming you didn't hop in your own rocket to orbit the earth for the purposes of photography!)

Both Julie A Rainey and also Micheal's book trailers are fantastic, and well worth looking at! Atmospheric, full of suspence they really make you want to read these books.

I had access to a royalty free footage firm - some of their stuff was a little limited for what I'd have liked to see, but the stop-motion stuff was pretty good.

which firm? I've used Istockphoto.com even for their vid stuff, not bad but a bit of a lottery when you type in 'flowers'n'guns'

they can get addictive to make. Am currently on my 20th book-related video!

I'm not quite sure how I'd start filming a video relating to my stories, but I do like the idea. I've linked to videos of my acting in my blog and a few forums, but there's the slight problem that I don't own the footage and I don't own the copyright of the scripts being performed, so I can't use those.

I see a shopping trip to get a cheap tripod and a visit to Barnes Common coming up in my near future...

You can go to animoto.com you can make your own short book trailer for free. It's only 30 seconds but it's very easy.

Thanks for the suggestion, but if I do make a trailer, it will be full-motion and as big, bold, sexy and cinematic as I can possibly make it with a digital camcorder and no money.
