Lucy paced, back and forth, glancing up only once every few min

After wandering aimlessly for a while, Sierra finally finds the strolling players camp. Whether or not the Mötley Folk would be there was a different story. She saw someone pacing and clutched her flute tighter to her chest.

Lucy glanced up wen she heard footsteps, her own soot covered bare feet making little sound"hello"she said, unlike most of the others she was waering a short thin flaming red dress,it was made of an inflmamible material she had created, simple, she was also wearing pant of the same material, she looked friendly enough

"Hi," Sierra said. She was still unsure what to do. Some of the characters she'd run in to were not very friendly at all. She kept a tight grip on her flute as she entered the camp.

((And I'm just saying, but if you are referring to the group of traveling performers that Dustfinger was a part of, that's the Motley Folk. Otherwise, ignore this comment. :) ))

((huh?aint they both the same?with the black prince as leader and also made up of preformers?sorry,i havent read the book in a while and thats all i remember about them....))

Lucy smiled,"how are you?"she asked, being one of the more sweet and clever charrecters from the book. She looked like someone you would find shovling coal on a train in the real world.her face was mostly covered in soot except from 2 ovals around her eyes, googals as a gift a few years back, also fire proof, but besides that she was covered in soot and ash streaking her hair

((I guess it's been a while since I've read it too. You're right. :P))

"Fine," Sierra replied. "You're the Motley Folk," she said surprised. She couldn't believe her luck. She took off the headband that was holding her hair back and let the red curly tresses fall to her back. She picked up her skirts and went over to shake the lady's hand. "I'm Sierra. You are?" she asked.

Lucy cocked her head to the side in confusion"i prefer strolling player, but yes,and im Lucida Black, daughter of Brianna, grand daughter of Dustfinger and Roxanne"she said"sorry if i got your hand dirty"she said softly

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

"My pardons," Sierra said. All she wanted was to belong and here she was insulting people. "My hands were already dirty; it's ok. I was wondering..." but she stopped. These people were from a different world. The Inkworld. She loved the book, but was still unsure if she fit. She certainly didn't belong.

she waved it away"its fine"then looked at her"wacha wondrin?i'll help if you like"she said

"Well I was just wondering if I could travel with you. Join your rants. See I'm a flute player. I'm not too bad." Sierra was usually a very confident woman, but here all her expectations and knowledge was stripped away. She didn't know how people would react.

she nodded"i would assume so,long as you can bring in enough money for a dinner for yourself,i dont see why not"she said

"Great," Sierra exclaimed. She felt sure she could pull it off. After all that was how she made a living in her world. "Don't you want to hear me play though?"

she shrugged"sure, lets hear ya"she said, taking a seat on the ground

Sierra began to relax all her muscles. She put her flute to her lips and started to play. It was a haunting melody, a tale of love and betrayal, loss and gain. In her world, this song left people in a daze, and they would tell her after that they never wanted it to stop. It was her best song. She put her heart and soul into it.
