Seawood According to the Work Expectations section, we'll be peer-grading the work of four fellow students. Has anyone done this before?

Coursera have a Twitter account (@coursera, natch) and they just linked to this post which was really interesting: http://onlinelearninginsights.wordpre...

Have to say I'm a bit nervous about it...

Patricia I've done it once before in another coursera course. It was an interesting experience and I really felt like I learned a lot from it. Of course that's only 1 experience so I don't know how well it works with other courses.

What I really liked was that the peer grading process forces you to really pay attention to what's being said directly as well as between the lines. And you get exposed to several different points of view, which makes you think about your own work differently. So up until now, it's only been a positive experience for me.

Seawood Oh good, I'm glad you found it useful. The video clip helps a lot too.

Kathryn Weis I've done it before for a credited online course and I have to say its really nice when everyone is engaged- but if you have people who are slacking/not turning in things on time it can be rough. I'm interested in seeing how it will work with no accountability.
