new_user | 1389 comments Link is not working for me. Do you mean something like Trance, Those Who Walk in Darkness or Black and White? I know a few are available from Love Spell/Shomi/Dorchester, like A.J. Menden and Julie Kenner's works. From smaller pubs: Even Villains Fall In Love and super bad. Also see Listopia lists like this or Amazon tags. Erotica: Riding the Storm. There's also YA.

Ren Puspita (renpuspita) Psy Changeling series by Nalini Singh. The Psy races do have super ability (and maybe they will make a good superhero) and no magic involved.

Bird (thebird) | 20 comments Jennifer Estep has a series about superheroes called Bigtime. The first book is Karma Girl. The books are a lot of fun, with superheroes fighting against a host of villains.

Claudia (romantasygirl) | 20 comments Actually I have the same question. Looking for a paranormal romance book which features a hero who has superhero abilities. Also is there a book which has a plot like the Marvel Comic Hero Aquaman? The hero should have these abilities like breathng water, talking to underwater creatures and he should somehow be connected to Atlantis. Something like the long lost Prince of Atlantis or so...

How about In Over Her Head by Judi Fennell ? It's been a while since I read it, but if I remember rightly the hero was Aquaman like skills :)

It's not quite like Aquaman, but you might like the Warriors of Poseidon series by Alyssa Day. It starts with

J.D. Field (jdfield) | 11 comments So many cool books here, I don't know where to start. I'd also love to see the classic superhero storeis, like superman, batman, etc, from the point of view of the romance. I think that would be GREAT!

I really wanted to read that as well. I've been a fan of comic books and romance novels my whole life. Unfortunately, when superpowers are involved, authors always take it more in the supernatural "gritty" direction, and away from the good old "capes and cowls" superhero kind of stuff.

Try Yesterday's Heroes, The Son of Sun and Sand and The Guy Your Friends Warned You About though. That's what the series is going for. It has a ton of standard comic book tropes and it's fun watching them used in a romance novel setting. It's got the Aquaman type guy, the Superman and Batman type guys, etc. And like any self-respecting comic, it follows the super-villains instead of the heroes. Because let's face it, Dr Doom is just more fun that the Fantastic Four. :)

Other than that, I haven't seen too many others of that genre around. Honestly, I'm thrilled to see this thread though, as I thought I was the only one who would want to read something like that.

message 19: by Robert (new)

Robert A. | 1 comments the first book of the series is "Superlovin" and its part of a collection of a anthology with stand alone storys. The other books of the series are "Superlovin Novella"s (in all 4 books)
i enjoyed the series and would recomment it (you need to read them in order or you wont get the story cause every book picks parts of the old storys up)

message 20: by Anna (new)

Anna Richland (anna_richland) | 9 comments Anna Alexander has "Heroes of Saturn" series. In the first one, Hero Revealedthe superhero (from space) is a vigilante and the heroine is the local sheriff who wants to catch the guy who keeps busting her crooks first. I liked the female cop role reversal.

You're welcome! I thought of another series you might like, too. Have you tried Joan Swan's Phoenix series? The second book in the series is my favorite, but they're all good.
