Our itl book club read Late Nights on Air. Some people really liked it while others didn't. Being from the north, you may relate to the culture in it. Hay's descriptiongs are poetic! Also The Book of Negroes: A Novel is an incredible book and gives some history of Nova Scotia that isn't well known. I highly recommend this one.
Thanks for the recommendation. I actually own Late Nights on Air because it was required reading for a college course (that I didn't actually read. I'm dreadful.) I'm looking forward to Book of Negroes, though. I've heard lots of good things about it!
Nice, thanks for this, you've inspired me to put my own list together. A couple of years back CBC Reads posted a list of books by province...I'm going to see if I can unearth that list. There are So Many good books set in BC!
GateGypsy- I'm going to have a hard time choosing, too. There's so many interesting books out there set in the same province that it'll be hard to decide on one.

Thanks for finding that list, Chelsea. It's been helpful in finding books.

I might have to read all the books on my list, too. There's so many books that sound wonderful out there that I'm going to have a hard time choosing.

I just checked with my local library, and I can easily get my hands on books for all my provinces, except New Brunswick and PEI! I guess I'll have to request them via inter-library loan ;-) (or buy them!)
That's great that you'll be able to get most of them through your local library. I've tried to do that with my other challenges, too. I'm fairly lucky in that my library system has a bunch of books set in other countries.

She agreed that NB is one of the most difficult provinces to find literature about, that there are a number of authors from here but that their writing doesn't necessarily reflect that.

I have come to the conclusion that I will offer up for sharing as many of the books I am reading for this challenge as I can manage. So, if I must source a book from the library or if it happens to be a Kobo book, I can't pass it on, but practically all the hard copy books I'll be reading I will share. To help, I will repost my list and mark the books that will be available share. I'll also copy this post to the book sharing forum. All books are set in the province/territory unless otherwise noted.

I already own a few of these. They've been teetering on my Mount TBR for a while, so that ought to be enough reason to choose them, but I'm still waffling :-)
