Dark Knight Trilogy

The most amazing thing to me is that film has been in production for years and the timing could not have been more perfect. Just like the previous one.
I don't know about Nolan's politics, but he said he studied different political movements to come up with the rhetoric and some of the plot points (like the mock trials form the French Revolution). The truth is, Occupy folks think they are doing something new and exciting, but that's only because they are ignorant of history.
Even aside from politics, it's a great trilogy, but it's sort of a Rorschach test for different people as well and it's great to see what reactions it brings to the surface.

I think I can top that in leftist myopia, if not humor:

Yesterday in the Washington Examiner Democratic advisor and former Clinton aide Christopher Lehane was quoted saying, “it has been observed that movies can reflect the national mood. Whether it is spelled Bain and being put out by the Obama campaign or Bane and being out by Hollywood, the narratives are similar: a highly intelligent villain with offshore interests and a past both are seeking to cover up who had a powerful father and is set on pillaging society.”
There was one line in Dark Knight Rises that I haven't seen mentioned in reviews, which is not too surprising as it was somewhat subtle and probably flew under most people's radar.
It was when Wayne asked Alfred about why someone had stopped sending money to the orphanage, and Alfred replied with something to the effect of:
"The orphanage received its funding from the Wayne Foundation. The Wayne Foundation is funded by profits from Wayne Enterprises. That's the thing about profits, there have to be some."
Which is the seed of the idea that Romney made explicit the other day.
"The idea that somehow making a business profitable is different than helping people is really a foreign idea."
I did notice that line! As well as the "sustainable energy" project being a loser.
Here's a delightful piece from the one and only Andrew Klavan-

Just saw Tim Burton's version. Unfortunately, it's ruined for me now. Hard to be scared of a Joker who's not Heath Ledger.
