♥Xeni♥ (xeni) | 220 comments I had no idea where to post this, so just here works, I suppose.

I'm so happy about next months book! I loved the Master and Margarita when I read it only a couple months back. A friend recommended it to me, and while I hate Russian literature (no idea why) I gave this one a shot and didn't leave disappointed!

I just hope I wont post too much in those threads. >.<

Kim The more posts the merrier. I've had a poor experience with Russian literature lately but I'm looking forward to this read. I was supposed to read it earlier this year with another club but didn't get around to it so now is my chance to get to it.

Parsa | 68 comments I am looking forward to reading that book, though I feel a bit weary of weary before starting any Russian literature. Hopefully this book would be as good as people are recommending :)

♥Xeni♥ (xeni) | 220 comments So, I just wrote out a whole comment, and goodreads couldn't save it. *facedesk* Let me try again...

Yeah, so I found this book to be not so much like other Russian literature I've read. It does have a lot of info about Moscow and many Russia-isms, but I was following along with a site that explained it chapter by chapter. (One of the top hits on Google if you do a search.)

It was also hilarious to read. This novel can be read on many different levels, so just enjoy the experience while reading. :)

Matthew | 37 comments I love most Russian literature. The Master works for those of you non-Russian lit fans because its a satire in the tradition of Candide, Vonnegut, and Heller. I've read it twice before, but I plan to read it again so that I may discuss it.

Barbara (zeldas) | 57 comments I ordered the book today. Although not a fan of Russian lit, I'm looking forward to reading this selection.

I think we found three threads to start with this book now :D

Mary I read this book a couple of months back and it is definitely one of my favorite Russian lit books. I look forward to following the discussions and reading everyone else's impressions.

Bridgette This is a very good Russian lit book. I'm a huge fan of Russian lit, though it's not a favorite, it's definitely up there. I plan to retread it again and follow the discussn. Also: there is a good movie That was made from the book. I recommend that as well, it's pretty fun to see how the director interprets some of the story. :)

Tracy | 11 comments I am still waiting on the library copy. Hurry up and read, person before me with the book.

Tracy, I am finding this a slow read. Hopefully, the the person before is able to read it more quickly or just gives up!

Amber I have never read any Russian literature but so far I am enjoying this book. It is one that I would not have picked up on my own.

Janice (janaz28) I am almost done with all the books I haven't read in the last couple of months for group reads. I will hopefully be able to get started on this one tomorrow or Friday. A friend recommended it to me before so I have had the copy on my shelf for a long time. I will be reading the German version this time. I am really looking forward to it!
