A correction - Fall on Your Knees is set in Cape Breton Island which is a part of Nova Scotia and not New Brunswick.
Sorry......got mixed up on location as I read it a long time ago. Also Alistair MacLeodwrites about Nova Scotia and at times Newfoundland but is originally from Saskatchewan
Imaginary Line: Life on an Unfinished Border looks fairly promising. I'm planning on reading it for the challenge.
I should add The Town that Drowned and The Nine Lives of Charlotte Taylor to this list, as they're both set in New Brunswick as well.
THE MADNESS OF YOUTH is set in Quebec, but the main character is a Maritimer and the author is from NB (he has some other titles, too...)On The Edge Of Greatness: The Diaries Of John Humphrey, First Director Of The United Nations Division Of Human Rights John Humphrey is from NB, author of the Declaration of Human Rights
Antonine Maillet is probably the most famous Acadian author in Canada. I haven't read any of her books, but I know that at least Pelagie: The Return to Acadie has been translated to English.

You know, I shouldn't assume that people need books that are translated into English, hey? We are a bilingual nation after all... :)
I can't speak for everyone else, but I'd need books in English. I know maybe six words in French.

Exciting news, folks! For anyone who owns a Kobo e-reader or an iPod/iPhone/iPad, a mac, blackberry, or android app-using phone, there is a sale on until August 6: 25% off select titles, including The Town that Drowned! I just got the email and rushed over to buy it. The code in it was lwaug325xy, but it says one code per customer, so you can only use it once. If anyone else tries it and it works, then we'll know each of us can buy a book, if we want to.(also in the sale are The Sisters Brothers and Half-Blood Blues for your BC author list. I'll copy this info into that thread, too.)
