I am not entirely sure myself. Did you go on and read #2?

I am open to most anything. Maybe we should narrow a genre first? Sci fi? Historical fiction? Mystery? :)

message 3: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments I dunno. I'm open to anything and any genre

Hmm... Check out the Divergent series.

message 5: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments I am good with that or anything sorta dystopian. Most of the ratings on goodreads for Divergent is not so good. However, most people (I've noticed) rate books really harshly. (By the way, side topic, I saw you had Fallen on your list to read...it was okay, with a decent love plot but got a little crazy toward the end, which threw me off the book.)

I try to.mix goodreads reviews with amazon. People are a bit more lenient on there. I'll keep thinking!

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11... See what you think of this. I think it kind of fits dystopian sci fi with a hint of familiar.

I'm seriously open to you picking whatever though. Seriously. I don't want to dominate this.

Other members, please chime in!

Megan | 34 comments I am good with Cinder. It is not something I would normally read, but that is the point! I have gotten to a point where I am bored with the same books and plots over and over again. I think Cinder is a nice choice.

Alright. When do you want to set our deadline? I'm in the middle of a book right now. Well, not really the middle, but... whatever. :)

Seems to be about 400 pages, so... I can probably knock it off in a week from when we start. Depending on the day we start and if I'm back in school or have work. Week should be the max I would say.

message 11: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments a week sounds good to me...I don't care when we start or when the deadline is...I'm not back in school for a while yet..I'm also in the middle of reading another book but I should have it done tonight or tomorrow. I've got a pretty relaxed schedule for a few more weeks.

Richard Holloway | 21 comments Cinder looks very interesting. A female android mechanic. That has never been done before. Lol.

How about a August 30th deadline? Or whatever the last day is....

message 14: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments Aug. 30 for Cinder?

message 15: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
Yes... Is that cool?

message 16: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments I'm good with it

message 17: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments what genre? I'm fine with anything: romance, horror, scifi, historical fiction...whatever.

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
Argh, I don't know. Btw, not that this is a selection, but have you read Outlander? If not... Do it.

message 19: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments no I haven't but I will! also, I would really like you to read we need to talk about Kevin... I would love to hear what you think about it.

message 20: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments I'm good with all the genres Megan mentioned. Don't want too much romance though. Have you started A Game of Thrones yet, Rhonda?

message 21: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments If y'all want a sci-fi book, I was thinking about Ender's Game by orson scott card. Going to be a big movie next year (Harrison Ford in it).

message 22: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
I have not. I read Ender's Game, and it's sequels, though. :)

message 23: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments I have not read enders or game if thrones....however I am a huge fan of the series on HBO.

message 24: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
If you two want to do Ender's Game I will patiently wait for the discussion. It's one of the most bad ass scifi books I've ever read.. nothing like the piece of poo we just attempted, Megan. The ending is.. well, awesome.

message 25: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments The books are soo much better as is most cases due to more details and etc. The series is very well done though , probably cause he had previous hollywood experience so he is also involved in the production. Terry Goodkind and Jim Butcher's TV series blew so much. I wanted to send hate mail.

message 26: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments I am up for it Rhonda. I love sci-fi movies but haven't read very many sci-fi books.

message 27: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
You will enjoy it. Tell me you've at least read Dune? :)

I'm excited to have an Ender s Game talk. Loved that book, and the sequels

message 28: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments I am up for enders game

message 29: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
I added it as the next book, then. You guys enjoy. I put the deadline to August 31st, it's not super long so that should be plenty doable. Enjoy! I know you will.

message 30: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments i have read the first two books of the Dune series, the Robot series of Asimov's, Battlefield Earth (my fav scifi book so far), and Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein. Thats it for scifi.

message 31: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
Dune is so bad ass. It's the reason I started reading sci fi.

message 32: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments if i had the time and an e-reader i would start it again at some time but i'm reading so many different series. The wheel of time's last book is finally done and is being released next year so i can finish that one at last. been reading it since i was in junior high.

message 33: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments after enders game I suggest one for the money.

message 34: by Richard (new)

Richard Holloway | 21 comments I have already read it. I notice you read a lot of her. Is she one of your favorites?

message 35: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (rhondaxe) | 41 comments Mod
I think Dick here wants us to read Watchers next. He's been asking me to read it for about two years it looks like from my to-read on Amazon. I guess he figures this is the guaranteed way to get me to do it!

message 36: by Megan (new)

Megan | 34 comments lol that's fine. actually no she's not one of my favorites. it just so happened that my senior year in high school I was bored a lot and my mother had her books so I read them. I do like her as an author but not one of my favs.
