Where did David think the body went?

Do you mean, "where did he think Scope's body went?" Because that's been annoying the hell out of me since I finished reading the book...it says on the last page that Beck was the one that was home, Brandon came in and attacked him and Beck shot him in self defense. He then goes for a run to clear his head, comes back home, and the body is gone.......AND HE ASKS NO QUESTIONS??? It's actually so absurd that I keep feeling like I'm missing something, although I'm pretty sure I'm not. Beck was surprised when Hoyt explained the situation, saying that he got rid of the body and pinned it on the other guy. But I just can't wrap my head around the fact that neither Beck or Elizabeth brought the situation up to each other. He didn't seem AT ALL concerned that a body just disappeared...and the body of an extremely powerful man at that. I really, truly don't understand. I enjoyed this book so much, and then I felt like the author ruined everything by that ending

The body that got buried was some drug addict woman that had died and had similar features to David's wife. Because David was in the hospital and didn't see his wife's body he just went with the story that her dad identified her in the morgue and never doubted she was dead.

and why would Brandon (a billionaire's son) want to do the killing him self? surely he would have sent one of his henchmen.

why would you give the answer out especially if they didnt finish the book yet?
