Reading ahead...?
It drives me insane when I do!!!! I've finally figured out that when I start to read ahead, that means I need to take a break...I just need to stop my looking ahead and put the book down!! :)
Nicole wrote: "I do a lot.I have even read the end before reading the book."Gasp! The end before the beginning! :) Hmm...I don't know if I could read THAT far ahead!! LOL
I read the beginning if i just want to know what happens I skim the middle and skip to the end. I RUIN so many books this way haha
I SKIP TO THE END AND RUIN IT FOR MYSELF!! I just have to know the ending... Even though in many cases I know it will be a happy ending...
Haha! thats funny, Soph! yeah...I guess you can always count on it being happy in the end. I have read several books that surprised me, though! "I did NOT see that coming..."
Ugh, I do it ALL the time. Then I get mad at myself for ruining the book.
I used to do that, but forced myself to stop when I realized that I had almost completely stopped reading books all the way through. You miss so much when you skip ahead!I'm proud to say that I haven't skipped ahead in about 2-3 years --- except in a couple books that were so boring I just wanted to see how the story ended & get it over with.

Cari wrote: "Ugh, I do it ALL the time. Then I get mad at myself for ruining the book."I feel for ya. -_-
I usually don't. Even if I'm dying to. There have been a few times when I'm really bored with what's going on and I have peaked ahead to get myself interested, though.
yea me too. if I'm thinking of not finishing it I'll look and find something exciting n such and if it excites me I'll keep reading. lol but never the end!
I've been doing much better lately. :D Haven't read ahead in a long time, although I have been tempted to. ;)

im so bad at this... :(

Haha! Soph...I can picture you peeking around the edges of your book's pages to get a glimpse of the story's ending! ;D
That's what I do!!! Even if I know the ending is happy!! It's annoying. Literally just done it with another book! Cant stop myself!
No, I now restrain myself :D I used to tend to do that, but eventually I realised it just took the whole adventure out of the story. Now I try my best not to read any other part of the book other than the page that I'm on. :)
Does anyone find if it is a really exciting part or something you start reading far to quickly as skimming down the page?!? I do!! I have to look away from the book and try and go back and constrain myself ;)

I know! I try to stop myself though. Sometimes I'll just catch myself doing it when I haven't even realized it yet.
Yeah!! I get about half way down the page and then I'm like!! Woah woah woah im speed skim reading here!!
I just gave in to this bad habit, and to the worst degree! Just skim read quickly (but surprisingly thoroughly!) through the rest of the book I am currently reading (and I was not even quite half way yet!)
NOOOOOOO!!! Don't do it!! ;-)Nope I don't read ahead. But I had a friend in High School who had to read the last page or couple of pages in every book she read before she read started reading from the start of the book. Drove me crazy! But probably only because she'd be a pain about how she knew how it ended (neener neener neener lol)

That's pretty much what I do.... And I always flick through the book first!
Ok. Next book I will NOT do it!!
Ok. Next book I will NOT do it!!

Does anyone else do the same?
Does it bother anyone else? or do you prefer to know where the story's going before you get there?
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this tricky dilemma...everyone's different!! :D
