Kevin Moore (kevmoorewrites) | 7 comments I'm a huge fan of J.K. Rowling (for obvious reasons) and Elizabeth Kostova, who wrote THE HISTORIAN and THE SWAN THIEVES

T. Johnston Welcome Kevin. I'm sure you will become a great help for those who are wanting to be a writer as well. I look forward hearing your tips on writing.

Julius (bookseeker007) | 23 comments Hey, Mr. Moore, how's your author's journey going?

message 5: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Moore (kevmoorewrites) | 7 comments Hi Julius! Well, I've just started my public writing journey this summer. I've been writing for a long time, but I've finally decided to take the plunge into the scary world of self-publishing. It's been an interesting process of growing and learning. What about you? Do you write and how is your journey going?

message 6: by T. (new)

T. Johnston I would have to say one of my favorite authors is Patrica Briggs and another one would be Stephen King.

Kevin Moore (kevmoorewrites) | 7 comments Good call with Stephen King, Tiawni. I had never read him until this year. Read Under the Dome and The Shining, and both were amazing. He has a great writing style.

Yes, I do write and I am intending to get published. It's what I'm striving for right now. So I suppose that you could say I'm on my journey, just not as far as yourself.

What do you write?

Kevin Moore (kevmoorewrites) | 7 comments Well congrats man! I hope you have success in your writing endeavors whatever they may be.

I'm kind of across the board. I like to write historical fiction, which makes sense because that's what Im getting my master's in, but I also like to write action/adventure and would like to write teen fiction one day. What about you?

I right Fantasy, poetry, and short stories. I've got a 261 page fantasy novel in the last stages of copy-editing right now; that's the one I'll publish. Do you often get writer's block, sir?

message 13: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Moore (kevmoorewrites) | 7 comments Very nice. I'm not much of a poet but i wish i was. What's the premise of your fantasy novel if I may ask? I don't usually get writer's block, fortunately. However, in rewriting my current novel project I've fallen into a rut twice. I think part of that is I've been so busy with my non writing life that I feel extra pressure to be productive when I do write. What about you?

message 14: by Julius (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 23 comments I've had varying degrees of writers' block durring the three plus years it took me to finish my novel. I think the longest time I was at a complete stand-still was near four to six days. But that's quite mild compared to other cases.
As for my story, it is set in a world of my creation, and follows the adventures of three unlikely companions who find themselves emeshed in a time of great trouble. Grievous peril marches forth, and the land is restless. The tale dogs the steps of the afore mentioned characters (along with others who come and go in the telling) as they face the odds, forced not only to oppose the obvious evil, but to also make a stand for faith in a land of unbelief.

A few days isn't bad. I've heard of people getting stuck for weeks or months. (I would just decide to take a vacation at that point!) sounds like you have a very interesting fantasy adventure in the works!

Jessie lee (jessie_lee) | 10 comments I’m going to have to say my favourite books so far are Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series which is about a female bounty hunter. I’ve read all 18 books in the series and never tired of the story lines. To me they are all equally as good, down right hilarious and could pick me up on any bad day.

message 17: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Moore (kevmoorewrites) | 7 comments I read the first one this summer. I thought it was hilarious. It's definitely something I'd recommend for light, fun reading.

Jessie lee (jessie_lee) | 10 comments Yeah… I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life with that series. I’ll defiantly read it again later along the line.
