yes that is why i want to share-to empower other women/girls. hmm when i get more written maybe i'll have the balls to share somewhere like here and get opinion on whether it's helpful..sometimes the anonymity of a computer can be less scary than people we know lolEither way it's still good practice for my yet to finish stories for entertainment (:
Hey everybody! I am writing my first novel, but all the feedback I'm getting is more show than tell and I'm starting to read twilight again, and she used more telling than showing. Is there anyone that agrees with me?

Twilight is definitely more tell than show. Stephanie Meyer is a great story teller, not a great writer. Sorry, don't want to piss anyone off or start a debate. Twilight is compelling and you can probably learn from it in a story telling sense but I wouldn't take writing lessons from it.
Show don't tell is very important. People don't want to be spoon fed information by a narrator. Reveal things through actions, surroundings, dialogue. Don't tell me that something said angrily or sadly, show it in their expression, in the choice of words used, in the punctuation. Make sense?
Hope that helps. :)
I'm in the process of written a Twilight fanfiction called A Thousand Years. It is a human story told from Edward's point of view. It follows Edward through his journey to find Bella, and the relationship together. If you would like to read it I can sent it to you.

I guess it's a semi-autobiographical fiction.
I know it could potentially become a topic worth discussing but until I'm farther in I can't find the guts to display it for people to criticize.
Anyone else write anything personal? How/why did you share it-if you did?
