Finally, right? So for anyone who doesn't know, each month we'll add a couple of books onto our shelf which the whole group will read together, known as a group read- take your own time, but try to keep it within a month. after the month, Hamza, Rachel and I will put up some discussions for us to give our thoughts about the book and to answer some questions. We can even write essays!!! I love essays- they're fun to write and they help with English skills. the main point of the group is writing, so if anyone else supports the idea of some sort of extended response, just let me know. the basic idea with the group reads is that we will have two a month- don't sweat it if you don't want to read them, its purely your decision. also, if you just prefer to read one of the two, that's perfectly fine. I think that Classics are essential for your understanding of the English language and of good English literature. for this reason, I think it's a good idea to have one classic group read every month, and the other one, interchangeable with other genres. based on the results of the genre poll, YA was by far the most popular, followed by fantasy, so we will choose the second group read based in order of the most popular genres- all will be selected in turn, however.
you guys have a few more days to suggest some group reads in the thread 'group reads and polls' and then ill put up a poll for you to vote on your favourites-ill have a separate for classics and the other genre.
so tell me what you think of these things, and please do feel free to suggest anything.
