***** CHALLENGE COMPLETE 8/14 *****
My books for August are already chosen, we'll just have to see what fits. I don't think the Vesuvius day is gonna happen though, looking over the titles I have written down.I don't believe I'v eever done a monthly mini-challenge like this with y'all.
I did the Rainbow challenge, and am working on the Summer challenge...and I did the Spring challenge, but first one like this.
Well, here's what i have planned...I found something related to Greece afterall, and if I am remembering correctly, it's not very thick, so I tacked it onto the end of my list of reading for August.Christy

for Greece. But not to be picky but Vesuvius is in Italy not Greece."
OOps, my bad. I kept thinking because it buried a Roman city that it was in Greece. Will make corrections. Thanks for catching it Kari.

Thanks I have Death on the Aegean Queen whew :)
I'm going to keep Greece, unless something Italian is mentioned in the current read...or perhaps another book, but it doesn't seem likely. If you are looking for an Italian 'thing' in a book to qualify, I can recommend The Seventh Sinner The Seventh Sinner. I read it last month and thoroughly enjoyed it!

You don't have to read the book by the dates listed. Also notice that you can read as many books as you like to fit the categories. You can participate whether you read match one or two book themes or books to fit all 5 categories.
Part of the fun is seeing what books you have that fit these quirky categories. The monthly challenges can get you to read new authors or to pull books from your TBR pile. Join in and have fun.

2012 Summer Olympics in London - Read a book whose cover is one of the colors of the Olympic rings. "The symbol of the Olympic Games is composed of five interlocking rings, coloured blue, yellow, black, green, and red on a white field. This was originally designed in 1912 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games. According to de Coubertin, the ring colours with the white background stand for those colors that appeared on all the national flags that competed in the Olympic games at that time." - courtesy of wikipedia

Aug 24 - Vesuvius Day marks the date in 79 A.D. that Mount Vesuvius exploded. Read a book with any connection to Italy (*Greece), anything exploding, reference to volcano's or any natural disaster or severe weather happening anywhere in the book. If you've already picked a book related to Greece, you can keep it. If you're just starting now, please choose Italy insted.
