I'm reading First Chosen right now. This is really good stuff! It's ageless reading that I can recommend to anyone but I'm only on chapter 3 so far. Is Tolkien a big influence in your writing? I feel like I can see these characters in my mind's eye. You must have been a very interesting little boy growing up. No offense but I say that as a mother of three adult sons & three grandsons. Your creativity is wonderful. I wish you well.
Thank you Linda. I'm very glad that you are enjoying First Chosen. I'll be interested to know if you share the same opinion of the other two Tears of Rage books as well. People who've read them all and still speak to me say they keep getting better.
I did cut my teeth reading Tolkien and CS Lewis in elementary school. Tolkien especially changed the way I looked at the world and sent my imagination spinning in even more wonderful ways than Star Wars did. And you are correct, I was an interesting boy growing up - much to the chagrin of my parents at times. I found jr. high and high school convenient, quiet places to work on my own stories while other students were worrying about grades.
I'd also like to give a shout out to all my fellow Genre Underground writers. Definitely check out their books too.
