Here are a few that I like"My Captain" ~ Dorothea Day (read after "Invictus" ~ William Ernest Henley)
"The Loom Of Time" ~ Unknown
"Crowns" ~ Amie S. Page
"The Touch Of The Master's Hand" ~ Myra Broks Welch
ive been writing a lot of these lately but they're more lyrical like:
So when the world is crashing down
Like fire it falls aflame
See the clouds are burning lighter
As smoke rises higher and higher
And what i feel the pain
Hurts more then i can ever explain
But God you know, God you see
Us struggling to set them free
Just like a beat thrown in a song
We're just here however small
Then when the rage starts to builds up
And all im left with is an empty cup
I hold it out let love flow through
Running running against this storm..
So fight these winds and battle the waves
Till all thats left is this cup i've saved
On my knees i pour it out
Let love change them all in all
soooooooo i dont know how many people will see this lol these threads are kinda dead~ but the line about "this cup ive saved" i dont actually mean we save loving ppl until we're out of everything else it just sounded good that way XD i memorized this one its how much i love it haha

I love it Caro! And you should definitely put music to it! :)
My friends all think you're awesome Caro, for playing Carnegie. I think they're all a teense jealous too ;) Unfortunately, I haven't informed Aaron.
lol im being talked about :) jk larry knows about u sam bc val and i talk about u all the time HAHA
he kinda knows... i think he thinks you're a figment of our imagination.SAM I LOVE YOUR NAME. stream!
Tell him not to break hearts :DAnd thanks Val!! :)
Yahhhh Caro, you're the talk of the town!! All my music teachers are super excited for you - one started dancing in the hall. They love it when young ppl play at Carnegie bc it reminds them of themselves LOL unfortunately Aaron doesn't know. I've been avoiding him. I like to think I can run from heartbreak - fast, so it never catches up with me.
LOL THANKS! half the ppl here have never heard of carnegie im like *facepalm* haha! aaron must be..bipolar
I've written a Christian poem!! It's called "Tears" and I posted it on "Random's Writing" thread. ENJOY!!! :D
It's funny, I wrote the poem when I wasn't depressed. :P
Haha... Yeah... But Cari and I always say that we're bipolar. You should see us... CRAZY one minute, perfect young women at the dinner table the next... It's like we have different sides to us ;)
SubmissionA crystal mirror, I;
Fate flung me-how prosaic- in the dust
Dear God, O help me try
To be a rare mosaic- in the dust!
Jessie E. Williams
CourageI love the man who dares to face defeat
And risks a conflict with heroic heart;
I love the man who bravely does his part.
Where Right and Wrong in bloody battle meet
When bugles blown by cowards sound retreat,
I love the man who grasps his sword again
And sets himself to lead his fellow-men
Far forward through the battles's din and heat.
For he who joins the issue of life's field
Must fully know the hazard of the fray,
And dare to venture ere he hope to win;
Must choose the risk and then refuse to yield
Until the sunset light shall close the day
And God's great city lets the victor in.
Ozora S. Davis
Yeah, vocabulary is important...anyway, I will finally post my poem.(Post my poem, that's funny right there!)I sat there, wind blowing in my face.
My heart pleaded to God to take my case.
I wanted to be free, to be free.
Oh how I knew I had to be!
An angel from God came and told me,
Someone cared, cared enough to see.
To see through the bars I had made.
Yes, they were my chains I had laid.
They didn't care I was crying,
They told me to keep on trying.
An angel from God in human form,
Came and led me out, made my heart warm.
I could tell I was healing,
My shell I had made was peeling.
Oh, how I knew I was,
How I was free, cause someone loves.
I sat there, wind blowing in my face,
And knew I was from another race.
One that loved, one that was free!
I hope you like it and ignore my spelling and grammar errors!
Ooooo, I like it! Do Not
Do not haunt me with my sorrows
Do not shelter me with dread
Do not uncover my fears
and leave me for dead.
Do not rid me of love
Do not disguise my escapes
Do not shatter my hopes
for my own life's sake.
Do not darken my path
Do not lure me today
Do not erase my memories
to bestow them away.
Do not eradicate my logic
do not embrace my imperfection
do not embark on my endeavors
that morph my reflection.
You will cease to confuse me.
Your game will stop before it begins
because the battle has been over
for I am the one who wins.
I wrote this when I was going through something.

My lips feel dry with the desert sun
My nose's locker is opened up
My senses are in the run
My eyes are staring at the cup
My mouth is stretched extremely taunt
My guilt is reluctant than super strong
My stomach is bulging with no more want
My mind is thinking of the fridge
The empty top of which is cleaned
The red Ramen box on the ridge
The insides which I now just weaned
I feel sad now that it's gone
My shame is perserved forevermore
Until we buy another box
Then it will start again.
:D

This little girl, not yet a teenWalks through her life,
As if not to be seen.
Her face has smiles
Her face is warm
But her heart is cold
And her life is shorn
From simple abandonment
from family and foe
From life itself
From herself alone
She was trained to stay quiet
Shes happy at times
But in the dark night
Her life falls down below
Wherest you are
Her God says to thee
She tries for His hand
But then turns to flee
Shes scared of her faith
Shes scared of the flames
Shes scared of the direction shes following
So clearly to hell
But where to go
She shouts in despair
where art my Father
Who said He'd always be there
This little girl, not yet a teen
Cries in the night
Waiting to be seen.
