Pirl (pirlismyname) Shelter (Mickey Bolitar #1) by Harlan Coben which is a really good book.
Or The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong which was OK.
Or Whispering To Witches by Anna Dale which is one of my "childhood" favorites. (I mean when I started really reading books around second-third grade).
