"Bye Mal" Ariana called back into the restaurant she worked at as she stepped out into the cool night. She had her red hair pulled up into a pony tail that trailed down her back in a mass of fiery waves and curls. Her cousin didn't like her walking home alone this late at night but she told him she'd be fine till he finally let her come home alone. She pulled her jacket closer to herself as a breeze blew by, she started walking down the dark sidewalk. Joel as perched on top of the town's church. He always liked it up there at night, he found it had a nice view and the breeze always felt good on his wings which he had unfurled and spread open wide.

Calder walked around.He didn't look so much like an angel,but that was the point.It'd be harder for people to discover him.He had his hands in his pockets as he looked up at the sky,looking for any sign of wings.
Ariana hugged herself for warmth as she took long strides towards her apartment. Today had been a good day and she was her usual chipper self with a soft smile spread across her lips. She past Calder and flashed her usual smile as she walked straight past him, she had no reason to think he was anything but a regular human. Joel closed his eyes and enjoyed the relaxing breeze for one last minute before diving right off the roof of the church. He grinned widely and pulled up as he neared the ground, his silver wings reflecting the moonlight as he shot through the sky.

Calder chuckled a bit as he passed Ariana.Some people were so happy.Even Calder,who was an angel,had his bad moments.He walked forward as he neared a small park.
"Yeah, well you're no human now are you!" He yelled down as he shot up even higher into the night sky. He loved to fly, keeping his wings in all day was dreadful but his night flies made up for it.Ariana neared her apartment when a hand holding a cloth was placed over her mouth. Before she could try to fight back or even simply scream her limbs went limp and she was unconscious.

Calder felt a sort of wrong in the air.Since Calder was an angel,he could scense these things.Calder turned around and tried to locate where it was coming from.
"That was some nasty language" he said as he flew up right behind her "you fallens are so sad" he said shaking his head. While Ariana was unconscious her mouth was tapped and her arms and legs were tied up. She was pulled into the alley way as a black van (so stereotypical XD) pulled up and the back doors opened.

Calder was now running,looking for what was wrong.It made him anxious to feel something wrong and not help.He flew up into the sky,looking down at the town.He saw a black van in an alleyway and he flew down,landing perfectly behind the person.
"Just stating a fact" he said before flying back up towards the moon.Ariana was now being carried towards the van. Her head rolling back and forth with each step the man carrying her took, he hair was draped over his arm now that it had fallen out of it's hair tie.

Calder sighedWhy do humans have to do such idiotic things?!?He thought.He grabbed a glass bottle that was on the ground and he broke it on the mans head with ease.He easily tripped the man and smashed his face into his knee.
Joel was now perched on her roof, he didn't even know it, he had just been looking for a spot to sit down. Ariana tumbled out of the mans arms and laid unconscious on the ground. The chloroform hadn't been too strong and she could feel her mind stirring slightly.

Calder sighed.This was just too easy.He picked the girl up and flew away from the man.
Joel was laying on top of her roof staring up at the sky. He had his wings wrapped around himself like a blanket.Ariana's eyes slowly opened, it took a moment before she realized, she was flying. She would have screamed but her mouth was still tapped shut.

Calder held her with one hand as he unwrapped the tape.He threw it as he got it off and he carried her in her arms again.
Joel felt quite comfortable on the roof but he was cold so he made a duplicate of himself that flew down and looked into the houses window to see if anyone was home."Where- How- What-" she started a bunch of questions, never finishing them as she looked down at the town below her. She tense slightly before finally asking "Is this a dream or am I dead?"

"Neither."Calder said"Yes,your in the air."Calder added before she asked
Joel's duplicate didn't see anyone and walked through the front door of the house. He started rooting for a blanket, careful not to move too many things.She looked up at him and saw his wings, her eyes grew wide "I must be going crazy" she said softly to herself.

Calder chuckled"Your not crazy,everything that is happening is real."He said
The double didn't even see her when he came down the stairs with a blanket in his hand."B-but, you have wings" she said as she looked up at his face looking for any signs that this was a practical joke.

"Yeah i do.Its no joke."Calder said
"You? wow" he said seeming very relaxed as he casually walked to the door still with the blanket in his hands. "How is this even possible?" she asked, he voice small and quiet.

"just go to sleep.ill explain in the morning."calder said with a smile
"How was I suppose to know that?" the double asked as he pulled the door open."But..." she trailed off before nodding slowly. Something about him made her extremely relaxed, soon her head was resting against his chest and the rise and fall of her chest was the only sign that she was even alive.

Calder smiled.He flew down to his house,opening the door and carrying her up to his room.He set her down on his bed,trying not to wake her.He grabbed a few blankets and went down to the couch.
His double shrugged "your point?" he asked before flying up to the roof so that two Joels were on the roof.Ariana slept soundly as her red hair spilled around her and she snuggled into the blankets. After only a mere thirty minutes she was sitting up gasping, another nightmare.

Calder laid down on the couch and he covered himself with the blanket,instantly falling asleep.
The Joels flew down so they were upside down and looked right into her room "Hello there!" they both said at the same time smirking. Joel usual behaved but he was bored so he decided to piss her off.Ariana threw her legs over the side of the bed and ran a hand through her hair. She was taking in shaky breaths when she realized she had no idea where she was "where am I?" she asked herself as she let her feet touch the cold floor and stood up slowly.

Calder was exhausted.Saving people wasnt the easiest thing all the time.He looked very peaceful asleep,almost as if he were a normal human.
"Gosh, you're a scaredy cat" he muttered before pulling both of him selves into her room through the window.Ariana eased the door open quietly and stepped out of the room and into the living room. When she saw Calder she remembered everything and slowly walked over to him. She gently touched the spot where his wings had come out before retracting her hand and taking a step back.

Calder opened one eye with a chuckle"May i help you?"
Joel chuckled before tossing himself onto her bed and making his double disappear. Ariana bit her lip softly "no, I just-" she started flustered "Sorry" she finished lamely as she rubbed her arm awkwardly and looked around the house with her eyes.

He chuckled as he sat up"No its fine.I could understand you being curious."Calder said with a smile
"Oh come on!" he said as he walked down stairs "I'm bored and you ignoring me is not entertaining" he said."I only have one question for you" she said as she moved so she was sitting on the couch next to him "what are you?" she asked turning her head to look at him.

Calder smiled softly"Whatever you want me to be"Calder said with a chuckle
"Same difference" He muttered plopping down on the chair.Ariana smiled softly "Angel?"

Calder smiled"If thats what you want me to be than yes."He said
Joel being the pain in the ass he is he started poking her.Ariana pursed her lips "what if I wanted you to be an Alien who was brainwashing me?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Then so be it"Calder said
"You're a very boring fallen" he said with a pout before standing and heading for the door.Ariana sighed softly "well that doesn't tell me much" she murmured as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "What's your name?" she asked him.

"Calder"He said with a smile
"No but it's funny" he said as he opened the door slightly."Ariana" she said holding out a hand for him to shake.

"Its a pleasure to meet you madam."Calder said grabbing her hand and kissing it.
"I don't really love anyone, I like a lot of people but no loving. Well see ya, I'm going out for a fly" he said before disappearing out the door.Ariana smiled and laughed softly "wow, such a gentleman."

Calder laughed"I try to be"He said
Joel flew through the sky, the wind ruffling his silver wings as he closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feel and sound of the wind rushing past him."You do a good job of it" she said as she retracted her hand "What happened earlier? I don't remember much."

Calder sighed"You were assaulted by some man.He was about to place you in his van when i showed up and did a few things.He dropped you and i picked you up and took off."Calder said
Joel flew towards the water tower before landing on top and pulling in his wings."Thanks for your help" Ariana said with a smile. She didn't think badly of the men that had tried to take her, in her opinion they must of had a good reason for doing it and that was enough for her.

Calder smiled"It wasnt any problem.I was just doing my job."Calder said
Joel laid on his back staring at the starry sky. He hardly ever slept these days but it hadn't effected him, yet. "You're job?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
