My Suite Love Series is set in cottage-country Canada. New-age hotel, The Nirvana, is the brain child of Ethan Weatherall, heir to the Weatherall chain of luxury hotels. He's counting on stressed outurbanites from around the world to come and "vacation in the wilds". Not only does Ethan find the love of his life on the shores of Loon Lake, but so do the hero and heroines of each subsequent story.
A Suite Deal is Book One of this sweet, suite series.

Hello everyone! I've written a memoir and while seeking appropriate venues for promotion, I came upon this great group. With Love, the Argentina Family~ Memories of Tango and Kugel; Mate with Knishes speaks to the impetus of a family’s exodus to America; namely a Peronista government, a stagnant economy and an anti-Semitic culture. The family transform into jet-setters relentlessly traveling back and forth across the continents thanks to a mother that never stops crying about "The Argentina Family" and a father who works for Pan American Airlines.
The story unfolds sharing the insecurities and confusion of a young, immigrant girl faced with identity issues. Wearing out five passports before her twentieth birthday, she learns to deal with never-ending jet lag; dividing her life in between her adopted country and her native land.
Almost inevitably, a long distance, whirlwind romance begins in the aftermath of Argentina’s “Dirty War.” Complications abound, including a frightening interrogation with the Argentine Police and an astonishing encounter at the American Consulate.
Follow the sometimes poignant, sometimes comical trials and tribulations of a young girl coming to terms with her Jewish heritage, her Argentine traditions, and her fierce American patriotism.
I hope you take a moment to look my book over.An inspirational, thought provoking story; I'd "rate" my book G, appropriate for older teens, YA and adults looking for a clean, easy read.
With Love, The Argentina Family: Memories of Tango and Kugel; Mate with Knishes
An excerpt from my memoir...Hope it "whets your appetite." Amazon has my book on sale!..."Although we had Carte blanch with regards to our comings and goings, we had limited funds. Marcelo was adamant that I shouldn’t pay for our outings and since his economic status was rather pitiful, we rarely splurged on our dates. We went dancing a few times and I gained admiration, albeit undeserved, by knowing all the words to the more popular songs. American music was back in fashion. Argentine artists who raged against the current state of affairs were stifled by the government’s censorships; several outspoken musicians were living in exile, fearful to return.
We went to see Fame, which had been out in American theaters for quite some time - I had already seen it twice. I was surprised the government allowed this form of entertainment. The movie had subtitles, which meant some of the more poignant dialogue was lost in the translation (maybe the government censors couldn’t follow along?). I ended up whispering my interpretations, much to the chagrin of the people seated next to us.
On another occasion, while we perused the vast array of shops on Calle Florida, a Minnie Mouse coffee mug enticingly placed on a display shelf caught my attention. My name, MIRTA, was printed across the width of the cup. Growing up in a time where personalized items were the hottest trend, I was hard pressed to find anything engraved, embroidered or printed with my unique name in the San Fernando Valley. I insisted that we enter the shop; that coffee mug was coming home with me to America! As I went to pick up the cup, I inadvertently let out a squeal of delight; for placed next to my MIRTA Minnie Mouse mug, was a MARCELO Mickey Mouse mug! What were the odds of that happening…Mirta and Marcelo? We picked up both mugs and headed to the cash register. In the process of handling our purchase, the clerk looked at us and asked, “Are you two brother and sister? You look so much alike!” I began to giggle and explain when suddenly, Marcelo turned me around and shut me up with a big, sloppy kiss. He turned to the clerk and said, “Yeah…she’s my sister.” We laughed so hard; we almost dropped our newly bought treasures as we left the store and the dumbfounded clerk behind.
The following day we headed out to Palermo, the equivalent to New York’s Central Park. Dani and Julian came along for the picnic. It was lovely and magical and romantic. After lunch, we rented a paddleboat and we cruised around the lake while Marcelo sang some Argentine rock ballad. I made a mental note to write this moment down so that I could tell Bonnie when I got home!
It started to rain and we were drenched. Julian and Dani were ready to head back to the Reisenfeld’s house, but Marcelo had other plans for us. Apparently, we were expected at his house for dinner. In a moment’s time, I went through a myriad of emotions. First I was dismayed - I was soaking wet and looked a mess! Then, I was nervous - I was going to meet his family! That was a big deal in Argentine culture. Then I was furious - Why didn’t he warn me or give me time to go home and change? Then I was thrilled - He wants me to meet his family! Oh my!
We headed to his parents’ home on Rivadavia and Medrano. As we were going up the elevator to the seventh floor, he just grinned at me and told me not to fuss. We were welcomed into the apartment with the lovely aroma of delicious food. His parents came out of the kitchen and gave us a kiss hello. His sister, Victoria and brother, Dario came from their rooms down the hall. Introductions were made but it was extremely awkward until Marcelo blurted out, “I’m starving.”
We washed up for dinner and immediately sat down to the table. Dario was just about thirteen years old and the family clown. He sensed the tension in the room and so he asked, “Ma, why are we sitting in the dining room instead of eating in the kitchen?”
“Well, I thought it would be more comfortable for us here, since it is so cramped in the kitchen,” Ana answered her son with a stern look. Her expression said, “Don’t make a scene and embarrass your brother.”
But Dario had other ideas.
“So, why are we using the fancy china and expensive silverware? Why is everyone dressed up?”
I busied myself with the food on my plate. I saw Marcelo smiling at me through the corner of my eye. Marcelo’s father chimed in and said, “Once in a while, it is nice to use the finer things, don’t you agree Mirta?” He stopped to glare at his younger son and then continued, “However, there’s no need to be so formal with our names. Let’s break the ice a little. My given name is Jacobo, but everyone calls me Bito. My wife is Anita.”
Marcelo’s parents were charming hosts and they asked me to make myself comfortable in their home. They began asking questions about my family in Argentina and my life in America. They told me a little about themselves. By the time the meal was over, I thought the Marcelo’s parents were very accomplished, well informed, cultured people. Dario and Vicki made jokes and teased Marcelo, but he didn’t seem to mind. I apologized for our soggy appearance and for not bringing anything, such as candies or flowers, but explained that I wasn’t forewarned about the dinner plans.
Vicki laughed and said, “That’s so typical of him. I don’t know what you see in my brother any how!”
Dario began laughing hysterically, so much so that Bito had to ask him to leave the table. Marcelo told his parents that we had plans for the rest of the evening and so, just as quickly as we arrived, we were on our way. As we were walking down the street, I asked him why he invited me to his home so soon into our relationship. Marcelo admitted that his family was curious to meet me since he had been acting rather strangely ever since he had met this Yanqui.
We walked quietly for several blocks when I finally asked him where we were going. He sheepishly replied, “We’re going to meet my friends.” He was just full of surprises today. Luckily, I had a chance to fix myself up a little while at his home. I borrowed Vicki’s blow dryer and applied some fresh makeup, so I felt somewhat presentable.
We walked into Frankie’s Café and found the guys at their usual table. Marcelo walked us over and greeted everyone. He turned to me and said, “This is my novia.” I almost died from the shock. Novia! He introduced me as his girlfriend! I hadn’t realized that we had made it official!
I wasn’t given much time to enjoy that moment, because Marcelo was busy introducing each friend. As he went around the table, he called out, “That is el Sapo, that’s el Gordo, Gabriel, you know him, then el Turco, el Coco, and on he went. Each guy had a nickname that was more or less slightly derogatory. No one went by his given name, they were simply known as “fathead” or “frog face.”
Warily, I looked at Marcelo and said, “So, what’s your nickname?”
Suddenly the room was full of laughter, snorts and snickers.
“What? You didn’t tell her what we call you?” one of the boys shouted out.
“You better run Yanqui, ‘cause he bites!” shouted another.
“Well, what is it?” I asked.
Marcelo turned to me and grinned, “Caníbal. They call me cannibal.”
On September 18th, there was another exit stamp in my passport, but there was a little more to this particular departure. Acknowledging that it would be a long-distance relationship, Marcelo and I found ourselves at the beginning of something special.
