Keziah played as Maya's eyes and helped her aroun their walk in the square. Too bad Maya couldn't see how it looked like. The air was cool, and as the wind picked up, it tickled Keziah's nose. Instead of letting her dark, curled hair out (which she didn't do so often in public), her hair was smoothed back into a high pony tail with only her bangs loose.

Maya blinked absently. "Are we there?"

"Yes sweetie."

Grace came down to town square. she sighed and hummed to herself.

Somehow Maya let go of Keziah's grasp and wandered. She felt around her to find her way. Se was clearly a blind girl.

Keziah looked around desperately when she noticed she was missing.

Grace saw a little girl wandering. "hi sweety, are you lost?" she asked the girl

Maya turned her head where she thought the voice was coming from. She blinked, and cocked her head, stumbling foward. "I'm Maya."

Grace caught the girl "im Grace" she said "are you lost?" she asked. she could see the girl was blind.

"Uh... yes. Where's my sister?" she looked around.

Keziah stopped walking and looked around frantically. This can't be happening. I should've let her stay home. She cursed mentally to herself, clearly unlady like, and ran her fingers through her hair. Stay calm. "Maya!?"

"what's your sisters name?" asked Grace

"Keziah. But most people call her Kadira. She looks kinda like me. Except her eyes are green."

"well lets go find her" she said. she took the girls hand so she could lead her.

"Okay!" Maya said happily and took her hand.

Keziah sat down and tried to calm herself. There were too many people. How was she going to find her?

Grace saw a girl that looked like Maya "i think i found her" she said to Maya. "hi is this your little sister?" she asked the girl

Keziah looked up at the stranger, then at the little girl. She grinned and hugged Maya. "Don't you scare me again! You had me worried sick." Kenzie stood up, and looked at the girl. "Thanks very much."

Maya smiled.

"not a problem" she said with a smile "i know what it is like to lose a sibling like that" she said with a smile

She smiled sheepishly, and rubbed behind her head. "Yeah. Maya doesn't really get out often."

Maya looked at Grace. "Can I touch your face?"

"sure" she said. she bent down, and took Maya's hand and put it on her cheek

Maya touched her face and closed her own eyes to imagine how she looks like. "You look very pretty."

"thank you" she said ""you are very pretty too"

Maya blushed and cocked her head. She took her hands off her face, and looked around. "Thank you." She said shyly, then looked around. Even if she couldn't see.

Keziah glanced at the stranger. "Sorry but I don't know your name. I'm Keziah."

"nice to meet you, im Grace" she said

"And Maya!" she chimed in.

Keziah laughed. "And Maya."

Grace laughed along with Keziah.

Keziah eventually stopped laughing ans servayed the crowd. She decided striking a friendly conversation wouldn't hurt. "So what do you do for a living Grace?"

"i act" she said with a smile "what about you?"

"I perform. Dancing and stuff."

Maya perked up. "Keziah describes them to me. Since Maya can't see them."

"wow impressive" she said. "what kind of dancing?"

"Acrobatics. But I could do lots of dances. I teach myself."

"wow" she said really impressed "i aslo do some dancing but just ballroom stuff" she said remembering the palace. "are you going to participate in the selection?" she asked

Her smile let down a little, and she nodded. "Yes I am. But I don't want to leave Maya alone."

she thought for a moment "maybe you could bring her" she suggested

Keziah paused for a second and thought. Bring her sister? It was a possibility. "Yeah I think I should. What do you tink Maya?"

Maya smiled, and was literally bouncing.

she smiled "do you have any other siblings?" she asked

Kezia shook her head. "I only have Maya now."

Maya glanced at Grace. "What about you?"

"im sorry" she said "i have 5 siblings" she said amazing herself by the number

Keziah blinked in surprise. "Five siblings? Wow I--" her sentence hung off, and she blinked again.

Maya tugged on Grace's sleeve. "Do you like all of them?"

Keziah shot Maya a look, not knowing how personal that could've been.

"I love them all very much. ever since my dad died, i have been taking care of them. my mom well, she has not talked to anyone in years." she said "when my dad died she just froze. like she lives in her own little world, so now i take care of everyone. im the oldest so it is my responsibility." she said with a smile

Keziah thought she must've looked supid blinking so much. So she nodded. It was similar to her, but a little different.

Maya hugged Grace. Wondering how se could smile at something so sad.

Grace hugged Maya. "it okay. it was 4 years ago" she said

Keziah cocked her head and smiled. "I'm guessing you're participating in the Selection too?"

Maya looked up at Grace, wanting to hear her answer.

"i am" she said "but i don't want to win" she said "im just going to see Prince Aaron again" she said

"Again?" she said in confusion.

"my dad used to be a guard there. he took me to work some times. one day i ran off and i bumped into Prince Aaron." she said remembering "he and i became friends. eventually i got a job there as a lady in waiting. i left about two years ago for my acting job" she said

"Wow. Impressive. I for one isn't really into the mushy..." she felt as if she were about to gag, "romance. But Maya here is."

Maya nodded.

"oh romance? no no, me and Aaron, my bad Prince Aaron are just friends." she said
