Is anyone interested in doing an author spotlight? I think it might be interesting. We could have a random fact about the author, i.e., the author's favorite food or book, information about his or her writing process, etc.

GateGypsy | 126 comments That sounds interesting, but I'd have to do lots of research. I don't know much about the personal lives of most Canadian authors.

Betty A suggestion for a British Columbian writer is Mary Novik, whose next sequel, "Muse", is forthcoming in 2013 and whose website is well-developed with book and author information.

I haven't looked further into many authors of my read books. However, there's an opportunity for combining both on Aug 13, when pre-reading Conceit starts. A very complete author website and blog for background about the novel and its author seems like a good plan before the novel reading on August 20 at The Imprinted Life.

Luckily, there are some extensive author sites, blogs, and interviews published on the web to advertise an author's books and to depict her/his writing life, friends and family, inspiration and so forth. If a book or a series gives enjoyment, then reading more about its author and being a fan of their writing are admirable.

Betty Re: an author spotlight, the idea is okay; but I'm not partial to the personal focus as much as to the author's book(s). Whatever a person wants to reveal will be authorized or will be autobiographically written in their writing.
