A supply wagon of food had almost made it to the gates when the dragon swooped down and snatched it up. He spat his poisonous venom on it, then tossed it back inside the gates- he didn't like veggies. Anyone who ate it would die. There was no way to undo that. The castle had been under siege for quite a while, and with the supplies being sent from the Palace (where the actual royals are, castles are for defenses whil palaces are for luxury and there could be multiple of each in any one kingdom, but usually more castles) being effectively cut off, they couldn't hold out much longer. Any settlers that went out to gether wood never returned.
((XD lovely))Ariana sat perched at her window boredly watching the knights training below swinging their swords like a bunch of blundering idiots. Sussie sat on her feet demanding attention she wouldn't get for a while yet.
Edger barged into his sisters room, "Still at the window Repunzel?" He asked rudely walking over to her night stand and pulling open drawers searching threw then frusteratedly
"I know that you took something from me because i can't find it anywhere else." Egder growled, "Repunzel where did you hide it?"
"She is not imaginary nor my girlfriend!" Edger rolled his eyes, "Just tell me where it is if you took it."
"No it's a maybe... you'll never know if it's a no or not unless i actually say so." Ariana turned to face him her shadow falling over him
"It's not stupid it's important!" Edger snapped running a frustrated hand threw his hair, "If you don't give it back i won't give back what i took from you."
"You didn't take anything." She sniffed sitting on her fed allowing sussie to sit in her lap. sussie purred she always enjoyed a good quarrel
"Only your favorite thing in the world." Edger said sarcastically opening her closet and pulling out a familiar role of parchment
"Hah who would want you stupid smelly perfume." He rolled his eyes putting a hand on the door knob to her bedroom
"I stole you away from your perch at the window." Edger snickered, "Took your attention away from your entertainment."
"Don't be a potty mouth Ariana mother wouldn't approve." Edger chuckled dodging it and opening the door
"I don't care whether or not mother approves... Just get out of my room you got what you wanted you little imp." she sighed picking up Sussie roughly and walking back to her window
"Fine Repunzel." Edger smiled shutting the door behind him he was always in a better mood after a good fight with his sister
The window cracked behind a hailstorm, raining in large shards of ice taht forced Ariana back as the sorceror, miles away in a large labyrinth of twisted tunnels, he stood over his large globe which he could actually affect the planet with, but only once every month. That hailstorm had broken numerous spears and set off a few cannon harmlessly, and had driven back the villagers gathering wood. This allowed threee of his dragons to swoop down without being shot down by the archers and knock over one of the towers (not the one Ariana's in), killing fifty.
In the confusion, a few supply wagons made a desperate attempt to reach the city gates, but the horses were killed by the huge clumps of ice and the wagons were set ablaze. By the time the fire died down, the food would be unfit to eat and the wood would be charred and unfit for use as firewood or building. Eventually, even the visitting royals in the castle would go hungry from the sheer lack of food in the storehouses. The inhabitants were already consuming the emergency rations. Any warriors who dared to challenge one dragon were surrounded by four dragons and set on fire from all directions. Some especially brave, skilled, and lucky knights could kill one, a large army can kill four after sustaining heavy losses if they have balistae and catapults and inane amounts of luck, but no force on earth could kill hundreds. There are records of a dragon defeating an entire Roman legion, though a fraction of the forces got out of the battle alive. The only hope was for someone to locate the sorceror (they'd start by finding an expert), kill him, and stop his leadership over the dragons.
