Scott McCloskey | 50 comments Hmmm...

This seems like the best thread to bring this up in, because it is about support. I thought I would share with everybody. I just created an author resources/support section on my blog that has a lot of tips I have learned over time for running good freebie book promotions. Check it out if you're so inclined (I need readers!)

Claude Dancourt (claudedancourt) Totally stuck. My plotline seemed to make sense when I started on my new project, but now, I'm on the verge of scrapping the whole thing and start anew. Would love to confront it with someone!

Scott McCloskey | 50 comments I'll give it a look too, if you like. Extra pair of eyes can't hurt, right?

Victoria Pearson Does anyone know anyone that can talk to me in excruciating detail about the large hadron collider CERN thingummygig?
I am writing for a collection of creation myths, and am toying with the idea of a cyclic universe where the universe is accidentally created by (at?)CERN, we evolve, invent the large hadron collider again and accidentally create a new universe again (erasing this one) ad infinitum.
But I have only the most basic understanding of it and the science behind it.
Can anyone point me to somehwere I can get it laid out in laymans terms (or preferably someone I can quiz)?

J.D. Hughes (jdhughes) | 10 comments Didn't they tell you, Victoria? That's how the universe WAS created. The last one was done on Wednesday.

The LHC is down for servicing on the same date as the Mayans predict the end of the world. But the universe will return on Monday. You won't notice.

Victoria Pearson @William, thanks, that is pretty much what I knew already, but that is as far as my knowledge goes. Will put that link on my research list, thank you.

@J.D LOL

Robert | 14 comments Victoria, you might wish to take the kids to the nearest large science museum where they will find lots of interactive educational ways to get into mischief while you visit with the person who does the planetarium show. Science museum folks have a way to make the most arcane theories seem reasonable and simple.

William, Higgs Boson sailed on the HMS Ark Royal and saw honorable duty in the Queen's Navy. I have no idea why these physics geeks are looking so hard for him. All they have to do is listen for his boson's whistle. The neighbors find him quite annoying.
