Easy by Tammara Webber, start date 3rd Sept
If we do it this month can we do it towards the last week? This next week I am doing Affair With Mr. Kennedy, plus another buddy read with another group.
I actually read this book a couple of months ago. I loved it!! I can't wait to see the discussion on this book :)
I'm just finalising teams for the Dance Party Team game, shosho, and then I'll do a break down of chapters.
OK, there are 27 chapters plus an Epilogue. Shall we say 4/5 chapters a day? Participants

Great .
No I'll do it.
Questions for Chapters 1-51. Talk about a full-on start to the story! I was so glad that things that first scene with Buck wasn't worse! What did you think of Jacqueline's decision to not call the police because she didn't want to get blamed for breaking up the party? What about her not even telling her friend? Do you think Lucas should've insisted? My biggest thing in sccenes like this is thinking if they wont call the cops for themselves, what about any other girls he might attack in future?
2. "...Instead, you walked out into a dark parking lot, alone, paying absolutely no attention to your surroundings. Real responsible.” Was that fair of Liucas to have said?
3. I'm very conscious that I'm reading a YA book, and so looking at it from a different perspective than the audience this is intended for, but I could kind of understand the whole "want to sow my wild oats" sentiment that Kennedy felt. He'd been with the same girl since high school and he's at a stage where he doesn't want to do a serious relationship. Is that unreasonable? Having said that, could he have been a bigger prick with the way he went about the break-up? Was there a right way to break up in those circumstances?
4. After seeing her lecturer (how lucky was she, btw, to get a second chance with that class!) when Jacqueline goes to Starbucks, Lucas seems concerned and asked her if she was ok. When she was getting her receipt from him, their fingers grazed and she snatched her hand away. Then: "His eyes widened, but he said nothing else." Why did his eyes widen? I didn't get that.
5. Did you love the tone of the emails from Landon? It so clearly shows the tone going from formal to friendly to flirty! The blurb of the book suggests there's a connection between him and Lucas. What do you think it'll be?
6. Do you think J is blowing too hot and cold on Lucas? And how hot was the scene at the club! How do you think he knew she'd be there?
7. Operation Bad Boy Phase??! Was anyone else laughing at that? I'm not a big fan of all the game playing that she's doing. Especially after he's been so lovely to her. Did it serve her right that he kind of blew her off or was there more to him making her coffee himself?
8. Buck. Ugh! So now we know it wasn't just a drunk thing, he really is a dangerous sick prick. There was no remorse there at all! Why do you think he's so focused on her?
9. OK, now that you've read the first 5 chapters, what do you think the Title of the book is a reference to? I'll be interested to see if you still think the same thing when we've all finished it.
1. Me too that probably would have made me stop reading. I think she should have least called once she got home if she didn't want to stay on the scene. I agree because he clearly thinks that what he's doing is ok.2. No not really especially because she obviously wouldn't done it if she didn't feel safe. I think she's just used to doing it but forgetting she doesn't have Jack around anymore
3. I think he should of thought about that before he got to college/uni. Although going by what she's said he seems to have changed since he's got there. I think he thought he was being responsible by not wanting to affect his future later on.
4. Lol me either I wasn't sure if it was because she snatched the receipt or if they were trying to say there some sort of spark or something but then they normally mention that in books.
5. Oh I never read all of the blurbs in case there are spoilers, i've just been assuming they are the same person but he uses a nickname, that's why he doesn't pay attention in class.
6. She doesn't really know what she wants or it seems that way. I think he's been keeping an eye on her.
7. ha ha its so silly.
8. Can't stand him. Probably just the fact she's different to the rest of those girls
9. I don't have a clue it can't be referring to her being "easy" so i'm not sure, so far everything sounds like its the opposite of easy lol
1. I really liked that you've been straight into the story, although the first scene was heavy and I was glad that Lucas stopped Buck. But it was also a bit strange, that she didn't tell anyone about it. You hear it everywhere to go to the police and to help at least future victims.2. I think he was angry about the whole thing... But it wasn't fair.
3. He could have broken up, but explain it to her in a nicer way, I found it very cruel for her to know. I don't like Kennedy and his reason for breaking-up.
4. I had to read this passage twice ... but I think it was to show their chemistry or the light in the room was getting darker ;)
5. I also think(hope) that they are the same person.
6. She doesn't really know what she wants or it seems that way. I think he's been keeping an eye on her. -> Same thoughts :)
7. I had to laugh about Erin - but I also think project 'obbp' is a bit too much. But it's a ya book.
8.Because he didn't get her... Maybe he tried to date her when she was with Kennedy.
9. I also think the title is meant the opposite way. To have a relationship, life ... isn't always easy.
I'm going to be lurking on this one and not participating much. Right now I don't have time to fit this in :( Ya'll enjoy!
Hi Carol & everyone :-)I read this book a while ago. I liked it a lot. It was my first YA. The opening scene was very gripping. I won't say more about anything else, so that I don't spoil things.
Some thoughts in response to yours:
1) My first thought was: Why did you go out into that dark parking lot! Although we all have the right to do what we want - we have to think about consequences. I don't think I would have walked into a dark parking lot, even as a kid.
4) His eyes could have widened because of her reaction (pulling her hand away abruptly.) He might not have expected it? Just a thought.
5) The emails were very creative and intriguing. I can't reply to the second part of this question, because I read the book. But . . . what I thought was right :D I'll tell you later. :-)
6) He may have known she'd be at the club because, it's my feeling, he had his eye on her for a long time. That was one of my favorite scenes. This guy makes you fall for him - instantly. Doesn't he?
7) OBBP was a bit silly to me.
8) Oh Yes. Buck. What a creep. I have a feeling he would have liked to date her when she was with Kennedy. He's just an evil person either way.
The title: Before I read the book, the title had an entirely different meaning to me. Now I agree with it.
Isn't this an awesome book though? I read it in two sittings. Sat up till 1am to finish. And I don't ever do that.
I don't know if its just me but its been bugging me all day. On the cover of this book does Jacqueline have the piercing in her lip instead of Lucas?
1.That was a pretty dumb thing to do! She should have called the cops .He was trying to rape her and she was thinking about breaking up the party?! Exactly as you said if not for herself but for other girls! It’s going to come back to her and bite her in the a*s!2. Not fair but at that moment it wasn’t that bad for the situation
3. no it’s unreasonable , I think he did right thing , I don’t blame him at all for breaking up , what the way he went about wasn’t right . He should have been more understanding and should have approached the break up in small steps! Prepared her somehow!
4 .me neither!
5. I didn’t read the blurb , but the way the story is going it seems there will be a love triangle but ... I think that’s just something the author wants us to believe ! I think Lucas and Landon are the same person!
6.I didn’t think about that , I thought it was a coincident .
7. I don’t get the bad boy vibe from Lucas at all it doesn’t matter how she tries and says he is bad and everything , I don’t get it! I don’t like playing games either , if you want someone just go and get them!
8.that was creepy and it shows how stupid she was not to call the cops on him! Maybe he wants her because she’s always been out of reach and now he thinks she is available for taking?!
9. It doesn’t seem that anything is going to be easy! I don’t know what it refers to!

I'm glad you're still participating in the book, even if you've read the book, sometimes it's so interesting to revisit.
I was very tempted to read ahead. This book is so "Easy" to read, lol!

Goodreads Synopsis
A girl who believes trust can be misplaced, promises are made to be broken, and loyalty is an illusion. A boy who believes truth is relative, lies can mask unbearable pain, and guilt is eternal. Will what they find in each other validate their conclusions, or disprove them all?
When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup two months into sophomore year. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, and failing a class for the first time in her life.
Leaving a party alone, Jacqueline is assaulted by her ex's frat brother. Rescued by a stranger who seems to be in the right place at the right time, she wants nothing more than to forget the attack and that night--but her savior, Lucas, sits on the back row of her econ class, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. Her friends nominate him to be the perfect rebound.
When her attacker turns stalker, Jacqueline has a choice: crumple in defeat or learn to fight back. Lucas remains protective, but he's hiding secrets of his own. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.
