The True Story of the Little mermaid is really Long. but I'll shorten it. So The little mermaid fell in love with a human so she went to the sea witch and asked for legs instead of a tail. The Sea witch cut off the little mermaids tonge and gave her legs. But there was a catch. If the little mermaid didn't kiss the prince before he married she would become sea foam. The little mermaid washed up on shore and the prince saw her and helped her because he was a kind person. He liked her but not enough to fall in love with her. It was time for him to marry and he met the girl that was his true love. They got married imediently and the little mermaid was broken hearted. The little mermaids sister's went to the witch and traded all of their hair for their sister's life. They swam to shore and told her that if she wanted to live she would have to carve his heart out before the second day of his marriage. She snuck into his room where him and his wife were asleep. She couldn't bear to kill him because she loved him too much so she cast herself out of the window and turned to sea foam as soon as she hit the water.

Yeah, disney ruins everything. They had it made with mickey and everyone, but once Walt died it was all downhill from there.
