I'll nominate one book this time, Tazitazi and some other members (me including :) had already shown some interest in this one -
, by Philip K. Dick.
I am also interested in reading
. This is an obsession of mine (everything concerning Tolkien and Inklings) and would not appeal to everyone nor is probably obtainable everywhere, but let it be my suggestion.

"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn is my suggestion for Sept......the movie rights are pending & it looks good for this novel to come to the big screen. I saw the author on a talk show recently & she presents herself well. I purchased this for my KindleFire and it is hard to put down!

Sounds interesting... I'll add a link to the articles about it:

The only issue I have with it - it is not yet adapted. So I am not sure how would the discussion work (of course, the book may be discussed, but the other part of the deal...)? I'll add it to the poll, no worries, but my guess is, it is somehow more appropriate under Expectations/Spotlight Reads folder until movie is really made :/

But the Gone Girl film isn't out yet. Are we sure we want to read it when we can't compare the film yet?

Well in the description I didn't specifically forbid the books not yet adapted so it kind of could apply this time :) But there were anyway more votes for Blade Runner, so we are reading that book in September :)
Also, if somebody wishes to talk about Gone Girl anyway, why not - he/she should just open the discussion in the Spotlighted Reads.

O, I hadn't looked to see Blade Runner was already chosen. Nevermind! I just finished Gone Girl for another group anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered to me, just thought maybe some of the others might like the opportunity to discuss something that already had a film out. We'll just have to reopen discussion when it comes out. :)

Here we may have also some discrepancies from the usual menu - the choice might be even a book adapted from the movie, a book that relates to a documentary (like Michael Palin's diaries), or a book about anything connected with the film industry, like The Lord of the Rings: The Making of the Movie Trilogy. It can be a biography of Walt Disney or David Attenborough (you may see those examples in a Genre Selection thread).
I apologize for being late in adding this thread. If you have some suggestions, please, post them quickly so to have a poll started on Monday.
