by Mary Balogh immediately comes to mind. I'll try to think of others. I also noticed that
, also by Balogh, is already on the list. That was a terrific book.
LOL bad boy and good girl count but also introvert/extrovert, city/country, and so on... books where the couple has to find a balance and becomes more by being together really.
So in
She is a cartographer and is a actor. She is very pinned in and uncomfortable in the city and he is a actor who is very social. They have work very hard to blend their lives and needs. I was also thinking about
she is a preacher's daughter and he is a bootlegger. There is a scene where she is back at her family's house and she tells one of his jokes at dinner something she never would have done before being with him. Her father points this out to her. Cool stuff.
I read a couple of her newer books, namericanwordcat, and they are good, but not as wonderful as her Historical Romances, IMHO. I think she had a gift for capturing the early American Frontier.
I really remember loving
- but it has been years since I read it. I don't know if it still holds up for me. I'll have to re-read it.
I just did a reread of it a month or so ago. While it is not my number one , two. or three Americana Morsi, it was way better than I remembered. The characters really grow and plus with the forced marriage the spend a lot of time together.
