Hello Suneeta, I read the plot of the book. It looks interesting. Will definitely read it. However I was wondering, do you also have a Hindi edition of this book ? There are many readers of Hindi in India but not many of the new writers are promoting their books in Hindi.

message 37: by Isha (new)

Isha | 1 comments Hi !!! I would recommend The Glass Palace by Amitav Ghosh. It's woven though different generations, timelines and counties. I actually found it rather fascinating that how beautifully the author was able to blend in history, politics and romance...all in one book. I feel it's a great read!!! If you happen to read it, please share your thoughts on it! Ta!

message 38: by Book'd (new)

Book'd Hitu (hituzbookworld) | 32 comments I would strongly recommend Ruskin Bond and Jhumpa Lahiri.
Ruskin Bond's The Room on the Roof and Vagrants in the Valley is an awesome read and higly recommended.

message 40: by Uday (new)

Uday Kanth (udayk) | 1 comments I would also recommend Sharath Komarraju and Shweta Taneja. Both promising new comers and write very good books in multiple genres, a welcome respite from all the campus love stories.

Check out Sharath's Murder in Amaravati, my favourite!

message 41: by Ben (new)

Ben Fleming | 3 comments Hi all,
I'd really appreciate some Indians reading my short novel, Distant Cities. It is a love story and travel guide rolled into one, and the last third is set in India!

It’s an ebook on Amazon. Here are the links:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013...
http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B013V...

Here’s the blurb:
What if you met a stranger on a plane, and fell in love with them, then you went travelling for five months before you would see them again? Now he suggests a game -
“It’s simple,” he indicated reaching for her hand. “You travel, I travel, without telling each other of our destinations. We send updates to each a few days after we arrive in each city we are in. We are not allowed to tell the other where we are, or which country we are in, only a description of the place and the people.”
“But what if we are in the same city?”
“Then the one that works that out first gets to sneak up and surprise the other.”
Let the game begin!!!

Be good to you
Ben

Shohini Dutta | 2 comments Hi, I am Shohini. A writer friend got me introduced to Goodreads. An Indian who writes English poetry. Oh, it is actually free on Kindle just for today, 30th August, if you'd like to have a read. I See You in Your Eyes I See You in Your Eyes by Deepa Bajaj

Rutuja Naik | 1 comments Well, there are many renowned "Authors" in india like Chetan Bhagat, Amish Tripathi, Ravinder singh, Nikita Singh, Sudeep Nagarkar, sachin Garg, etc.
Along with this there are sone authors who are not famous, but there book is a worth giving a shot if you are looking for something different. Like The lost story by Amit gosh, DeadAlive by sandip Khade, etc.

Corinne (corinnebooks) An author I discovered last year : Indrajit Garai. He has written an excellent book : The seeker of well-being.

The Seeker of Well-Being

message 45: by Isha (new)

Isha (theliterarytrails) | 5 comments Try Madhulika Liddle for Mystery
Brutal by Uday Satpathy
Indu Sundaresan
Sudhir Kakar
Manohar Malgonkar
Samit Basu for Fantasy
Deepika Ahlawat
Then there is a book, The Competent Authority...I forgot the name of the author.

There are many many more, tell me if you want more. The list is almost endless

message 46: by Rasika (new)

Rasika F | 1 comments If you like psychics and odd ball characters and wit, then I would suggest reading "Like a Pinprick to the heart" by Shujoy Dutta.
He's a debut author and the book has just come out.
It's a great read. The character voice is fresh and sarcastic - reminded me of Holden Caulfied from Catcher in the rye.

Simoquin Prophecies by Samit Basu if you're into fantasy. But only book 1& 2 were enjoyable, i lost interest midway through book 3.

I've heard good things about Shovon Chaudhury, but haven't personally read him yet.
