Sigh, I have increased my goal several times this year. Now I'm over it and am not sure what number to use for a new goal. I have passed 200 books, but am not sure how much additional reading I'll get in this year.
Go with increments of 10 or 20 books. It's what I do!
Lara, why not leave it where it is for now. Everything from here on in is icing on the cake. But next year, when you're trying to figure out what your goal should be, have a look at what your total ends up for this year and calculate from there.

I just made my goal of 300 a few days ago and decided that I'm not increasing it any more. I'm just going to keep reading and see how many over 300 I read so I can set my goal accordingly for next year ☺

I never saw this challenge until today. I was going to add all my books if you hadn't made the goal. Will keep an eye out for next years.
Oh...we do need to decide on a goal for next year. Should be fun!

Ok. I'll go see what shelf I need to create.
I made my tag 2012 and added about 160 books. I was pleased to see that I could batch add them from my Read list. However I apparently have a habit of not moving books from To-Read to Read when I rate them. I found about 15 or so that I did this and added them. But I'm still about 20 books short of what I actually read. I'll find them.
Yes, I noticed I do that sometimes, too, Mary. So, I start from "Recent Update" page and click on "Update Status" then "I'm finished" - and then found there was a period of time this year where even that didn't automatically transfer them over.
I just went through my To Read shelf and sorted it by last updated. I found a bunch there. I actually scrolled further and found several that I read last year that were still on my To-read shelf. A few weren't even rated. So my number for last year was higher than I thought.
Well, that's good news. ☺

We met our goal!
As of today our group has read a whopping 5051 books! Our group is so awesome!(view spoiler)[
Our group members are so awesome that the moderators have decided to up our goal to 7000 books! So we'll need all the help we can get!
