Used to be a twilight fan, not anymore. There's so much wrong... read my reviews on the books. Twilight books were bad, but the host was good.

Psᴇᴜᴅᴏʟᴏɢᴏs [ ɢᴏɴᴇ ] (MuchLikeFalling) I agree with Nicole. Twilight was boring, Bella was a Mary-sue and so was Edward. I can't see how Bella can fall in love with some guy she barely knows anything about and then is willing to risk her life just to see his face as a fragment of her imagination. I just don't... Twilight was immature.

The Host, however, was the opposite and I rather enjoyed the book.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

The host was really hard for me to finish. I didn't like it very much

message 17: by Chandana (new)

Chandana (jadedpoet) | 24 comments what's your opinion on the host? I was thinking of picking it up....

★ Mist ☆ Cassidy ★ (rockclimbingirl) | 20 comments While I hated what Twilight turned in, when I first read the Twilight books before the fandom began (right when they were first published), I really liked them. There was some things I didn't like at all, like Bella and her my-whole-dang-world-revolves-around-the-most-perfect-person-ever-known-as-Edward scheme, but other things I did like.

My only complaint about Twilight (besides the movies. Yuck. Didn't like those) was how Breaking Dawn ended. As morbid as it sounds, I would of liked it better if there was more actiona nd they actually killed off some of the characters. Like Harry Potter for example, JK Rowling killed off a lot of characters, which made it more real-ish.

The Host is a different story though. I bought it on the day it came out and I was so excited to read it... Long story short, I couldn't even manage to read 100 pages. I absolutely despised it.

Hey, Twilight's okay. It's just kinda down there on my fav books list.

message 21: by Ophelia ॐ (new)

Ophelia ॐ Don't hate on Stephanie Meyer, even if you didn't like her books.
I personally, like her as an author. I even liked the Twilight series, though Bella was somewhat annoying in New Moon and such. But Meyer's a great author.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Bella was annoying in general. I don't understand why everyone loves her so much. Every boy in school, then edward, then jacob, then james, then laurent, then victoria, then the volturi, (not necessarily in that order) why is everyone obsessed with her???? She's whiny, annoying, always woe is me, and just plain bland.

message 23: by Ophelia ॐ (new)

Ophelia ॐ Don't you remember? Her scent is so damn intoxicating ;)
hahahahahhahahahah wth

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

haha! Oh wow, I never realized how amazing Bella's b.o. was. WTF???? Don't forget her damsel in distress-ness. Oh no she fell! Oh wow, now that's flat on her face I'm in love with her.

message 25: by Ophelia ॐ (new)

Ophelia ॐ Bahahahah!! oh Bella, what would we do without you? (not!!)
:P

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I couldn't live without her!! (jk, quote from her which she said to edward about a month after they met)

Dorcas Wood | 1 comments I read Breaking Dawn a couple of weeks ago and thought she did a phenomenal job. I got a little lost with so much description. I found myself just wanting to get to the action of the scene not wanting to know every single thought but i know some readers do appreciate this technique. The movies were great though!

message 28: by Chandana (new)

Chandana (jadedpoet) | 24 comments i only watched Breaking Dawn Part 1, and that was cuz i was bored.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I really didn't like breaking dawn. I mean they spend a whole book leading up to their... honeymoon night and then she just says "and they went into the water" or something. I don't like reading too much detail about... that stuff but you can't build up and let down. Then she built up to a big battle... and they settle it through talking. Then she's building up to Bella's crazy newborness. You'll always be hungry... ya no. You'll be blood crazed... ya no. You're clumsy... not anymore. You can never see your family again... ya no. Jacob will never want to see you again... untrue because he fell in love with your baby while you were dead! Really? What she can just skip over every difficulty in vamp life? And the imprinting SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?! What is WRONG with this picture?!?!?!?!? It's so NOT right!!!!!

Lura (The Life of Serendipity) (xthelifeofserendipityx) I use to be a HUGE fan of Twilight (talking about the first book here people!), but then my love for it was ruined when every teenager read it and it was all they talked about... I used to talk nonstop about it, but then after awhile I was just like "Okay I'm actually getting sick of Twilight, shocker!" p.s. I really was shocked...! I read Twilight; LOVED IT! New Moon; hated it! Eclipse; LOVED IT!!!, Breaking Dawn; I forced myself to finish it and god was I happy when I finished the last word on the last page. I think I did a little victory dance that I actually finished it and didn't give up :D Anyway what also ruined the story for me was that I started to read other books (wasn't a big reader before Twilight) and I read other vampire books I saw that the writing in Twilight wasn't that great... Anyway that was my opinion of the Twilight Saga and it Author :)

p.s. Stephenie Meyer is a okay writer, but I've read better books by other authors...

Holy mary mother of god, thank you! I totally agree with you 100% She lead up to some much in the book and it was just a total disappointment! And the whole Jacob imprinting on the baby was so friggin WRONG on so MANY levels! I mean really?! You have a 17-18 year old imprint on a friggin newborn?! I think Stephenie Meyer needs her head examined...

I seriously agree with you. Suddenly there was this big craze about it at school, and I even saw kids in elementary taking around copies of Twilight!(or was it Breaking Dawn?) And I also felt the same: 1st book is good, 2nd book is disappointment, 3rd is good, 4th book is forced to read cuz I read the rest of the series!!! I felt like Stephanie does this on and off switch with books. That's why I haven't read The Host.

Hm. I'm really NOT impressed with her work. Nor her writing style.

Its...too easy to read for one. Two, I wasn't impressed with the story. Vampires sparkle? Come on. Original, yes, but, rather lame. Then there's the whole thing with Jacob getting with Bella's daughter. Who does this?

Okay. So she grows up fast. Still. She's what? 17-18 and by now, Jacob is how old? In his twenties, thirties at most? Yeah, he's a wolf, I get he might not age like humans do, but still.

He couldn't have Bella so he goes with the daughter. That's not okay in my book.

The movie made it worse though because they picked the most average looking girl for Bella. And the "hottest" guy falls for the most average girl? Yeah, no, sorry. Not cool. No, I'm not an Edward fan. So, its not a jealousy issue.

But, I respect the fact that many people DO like her work. I respect that you may have a different opinion then mine, so, please give me the same courtesy I'm giving you.

I'm just stating a strong opinion. If you like it, fine. I don't. I'm just saying.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree with you, the plot line of the series was just plain wrong. But I'm glad it was an easy read, that way i didn't spend too much time in my life reading those books.

Your opinion is fine. I agree, the whole Jacob imprinting thing felt really awkward to me. Good thing this is fictional!!!

Giulia When I was reading the Saga during the period of the biggest hype, I thought it was good. In hindsight, maybe not so much anymore but *shrugs*.
The Host was soooo much better and the movie better not ruin it!
