Hi everyone! I'm Megan. I read mostly fantasy and YA paranormal. You can check out my blog Megan Likes Books at http://megantalksbooks.blogspot.com
Hi, I'm Michelle. I'm a pretty eclectic reader, but my most favorite genre is historical fiction, followed closely by horror and fantasy. My main blog is http://thetruebookaddict.blogspot.com/ and my horror blog is http://castlemacabre.blogspot.com/This seems like a fun group. Thanks for the invite!
Hi, I'm Chris. I'll read just about anything, though I prefer the classics. Lately I've been reading a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, though. My blog is http://inabookshelf.blogspot.com. Thanks for the invite, Lianne!
Thanks for this group! I've been reading across genres for decades, but my defaults are Children's and SF. I look forward to catching up on some "important" books that I've missed for lack of people with whom to share the experience.Btw, no immediate pressure, but I hope we can find an avatar. Maybe even the current read, and just change it each month?
Welcome here everyone!
Cheryl, I've been wondering what we could have for an avatar! I know it looks dull without one. I guess I'll put up the current read for now, but it would be nice to have something more permanent. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi I am Alex. I have read Les Mis before and have a slightly different copy. I will try and get too it but I can't promise. I have read it before and I know the story pretty well.
Welcome here, Alexandra!
For the polls, I just choose the default edition. Any edition is fine!
Also, even if you don't read the book in October, if you've read it before you're welcome to participate in the discussion!

Hi I'm Jill. I just discovered goodreads two weeks ago through my public library and I love it. When I compared books with a friend I discovered the compatibility test and just KNEW there had to be a book group on here for that and here you all are. Day to day I read mostly childrens pictures books to my two young daughters. At night I like to have a book to read and have been disappointed in many of the books I tried to get through. I started reading Newbery award winners and many of them were great. I like many genres as long as they are well written. I don't like books that are too graphic with violence or sex, but rather enjoy books that rely on plot and character to keep up interest.
Sometimes I read British chick-lit just because it is fun.
I'm joining late in the month and I doubt I can get through Les Mis in just 7 days *especially because I don't have a copy of the book yet. But I look forward to reading some of these well known books with you all.
Welcome to the group, Jill! :)
I skipped Les Mis because I doubt I could have finished it in a month! Haha.

I would like it to be! The poll to pick the January book ended with a tie, and due to the craziness of the holidays I never ended up doing a tiebreaker, so there was no January book. Then in January I posted a tie-breaker poll from that last poll to pick the February book, but no one voted on it. I'll put it up again for March and hopefully this time we'll actually pick a book!

Well, I didn't vote because I didn't really want to read any of the choices. I totally don't want to tell you how to run your group - but maybe it's time for a fresh set of choices? Maybe come back to these titles later? After all, I might not be the only one who wants to participate, but is still not going to read everything chosen.

Now it's your turn! :)
