(I know, it doesn't really work like that, but what the heck.)

Thanks for mentioning it, Dee.
Some one-book options which I think work:The Brotherhood Of The Rose or The Covenant of the Flame by David Morrell (#1 & #3) (He's written a number of others that work, too.)
Bloodmoney: A Novel of Espionage or Body of Lies by David Ignatius (or one of several others by the author) (#1 & #3)
Flight From Berlin by David John (There are certainly a lot of Davids who write spy thrillers.)
Blood of Victory (Night Soldiers #7) by Alan Furst (#1 & #2) - This series can reportedly be read in any order, except for #4 & #5, which are a pair. Each book has different characters.)
Also, a question: Tim Powers is actually, both legally and by birth, Timothy Powers but uses the short form of the name for his writing. Does he count for the "Timothy" name choice of option #3? If so, Declare, which is both listed as Spy Thriller and Science Fiction and Fantasy and Horror and Historical Fiction (Powers loves to mix his genres) is also a one-book option and might work for people who prefer something a little different.

Thanks for those one-book examples, Candiss, they work
Re: Tim/Timothy- the names should match- so Tim Powers doesn't work

Thanks, Dlmrose. Silly Tim - he should start going by his full name! Doesn't he know people have challenges to complete? ;)
The Seven satisfies options 2 & 3, am I right in thinking I can just read this one book for this task as it satisfies 2 options?

That's correct

Sure- Julie James works, so would Lorelei James, Eloisa James, Henry James, etc

If the book has more than one author do all the names need to work for option C.
Amber House I would like to read this one.

Would Bond Girl work? I checked it out thinking it had to work for one of the options, then I saw that "Bond" had to be the author's name, and not in the title.

sorry, no, we treat hyphenated names as one name

Dlmrose, wanted to confirm if Flame of Sevenwaters will work for option 2 with seven in a compound word?
Vi wrote: "Dlmrose, wanted to confirm if Flame of Sevenwaters will work for option 2 with seven in a compound word?"
I hadn't anticipated compound words with seven. But it keeps the integrity of seven- so I'll take it
