So I was trying to combine these two books:

Couldn't do it. Didn't know what I was doing wrong. Then I looked over the manual again. Okay, the main author has to be the same. So, now I'm looking at the author profiles and they're the same guy, just two profiles. I tried combining those then, with the steps the manual listed, but to no avail. There are still two unique profiles and I still can't combine the books. Arg.

Can someone explain to me if I'm doing something wrong? Is there a lag for combining author profiles?



... and belatedly I think to search the group. It's because the one profile is a claimed profile, huh? Double arg!

Hi - I have a slightly different problem and wondered if you can help? One of my books is not showing up when you click on author Linn B Halton, although three of my books do show up correctly. How do I 'claim' The Restaurant @ The Mill, which is my latest book? Many thanks for your help!

When adding books the author name has to be exact. This book has been added

Linn B Halton not Linn B. Halton (missing period)

Hello,

Just by chance I discovered that there is a duplicate on one of my books, and the duplicate has 6 reviews. The duplicate is due to a mis-spelling of my (the author's) name.

The incorrect book is
Brimstone

You will see the author name is incorrectly spelled in the above entry.

The correct listing is:
Brimstone

I would like to delete the incorrect entry and transfer the reviews ot the correct entry, but cannot seem to find a way to do this.

Beth, I'm assuming you're referring to the same ones I mentioned first? I also combined a few of the things above, but others didn't look right so I left those.

I can't say I understand it, but alright, combined.

I need to combine http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15... ...she is an Australian author, and her book http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15... has gone to a different author, with the same name. I can't figure out how to get the second link to combine with the first.

Brenda, to get both books on the combine page the author field must have the same author. In this case it was the dfference between Alison^Stuart and Alison^^Stuart (where ^=space.) I have gotten these.

We're not. Someone most likely just made a mistake...working on separating, now.

Oh good grief, there are several things, with notes even!, that have been combined. >_<
