Good for you J.M. to tackle a rarely written about topic and something that folks in Northern Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania certainly are exposed to on a regular basis. I'm glad that you are coming at it from a historical perspective, too because it really will enlighten many of those like myself who are interested in genealogy. I've heard many people mistaken the Germans from Pennsylvania as the "Pennsylvania Dutch" when it was actually the "Pennsvylania Deutch" so I think it would be fascinating to learn more about the Mennonite and Amish culture and how it developed from early on to current day living and how they were perceived by the Germans in Pennsylvania. So great to know you are sharing these experiences with others!
