Though summer is coming to an end, depending on how you look at it-either from a temperature perspective or the return of school supply lists, alot of people enjoy 'lite' reads through the summer months. I highly recommend reading some works of children's book author, Patricia Reilly Giff. Lilly's Crossing is a delightful book, set in the WWII era that may be enjoyed by the whole family, especially on audio book. A companion to that book is Willow Run. Nory Ryan's Song addresses the Irish potato famine. Giff weaves difficult subjects throughout her narrative of delightful characters and one comes away with a better understanding of history through the eyes as well as the heart of a child.
