Carol Atta I have always wanted to be reviewed by Night Owl Reviews (NOR). And I'm excited to report they reviewed I Kissed a Dog.It received a 4 Star rating! I'd love to share this with my Goodreads friends and fans ...

I Kissed a Dog
Werewolves of the West, #1

What started as what seemed a pretty simple and straight forward story quickly became a complex multi-dimensional story that grabbed my interest and kept me wondering, what next. Power struggles, magical powers, trust issues and so much more complicate what could have been a simple romance making it a mixture of a paranormal romance and mystery. The world created has you visiting a tourist park, Vegas and its lush splendors, a creepy old school and just about everything in between. And, the characters range from werewolf to vampire to over protective cop dad! There seems to be a touch of everything but yet it meshes so very well that you don’t notice. This is a first book as the ending is a cliff hanger. Don’t look for your typical happy ending as there is nothing typical in this book. However, don’t expect a quick intro and a serial book either as this is a full length book with lots going on. I’m not sure who all to trust but I’m going to trust that Ms. van Atta writes fast and can get the next book in this series out soon!

Chloe Carpenter looks like a typical woman but after an accident in your youth, she’s able to communicate with animals which makes her job at a wildlife part easier. It also helps that her boss understands and appreciates this skill. Though Chloe is attracted to her boss, she’s surprised when she is really attracted to the new vet that is brought in and she can kind of read his mind. She can’t read human minds! Zane Marshall in an enforcer for his pack and has been sent to investigate some murders that have occurred in the area. He’s also to find the woman who speaks to animals. Zane is able to do that quickly enough but he doesn’t expect to feel an attraction towards her. She’s human and he’s full-blooded werewolf which is not a good combination. Can he keep his job and his desire separate? And, can he figure everything out without letting the humans know that he’s a werewolf?

Definitely an interesting book and worth checking out.

Carol Atta I think I must be a big baby. I lost a fan and a friend. What have I done? Did I offend? I always wonder what has happened when I am banished off a friend list. Anyone else ever wonder? I know its silly, but, well, it just happens!

On a more positive note: I have had 51 ratings for my book, I Kissed a Dog. Hoping for hundreds more!

Carol Atta Attention to my awesome readers, fans, and friends. It has come to my attention that there are some serious editing issues with the Kindle Version of I Kissed a Dog. Apparently an un-edited, corrupted version was somehow uploaded. My publisher is well aware of the issue and this should be fixed soon. I apologize for this development.

Carol Atta Does anyone else every get books that you didn't read showing up suddenly on your page as read and reviewed? I've had that happen now several times. It kind of creeps me out. Any idea what is going on? Should I "report" this to someone. So far, I see one and just remove it from my page.

Carol Atta As if communicating with animals isn’t enough to occupy, and at times, terrify Chloe Carpenter; a fresh threat blasts into her life without warning. Zane Marshall, Werewolf Enforcer, threatens her relationship-free existence while challenging everything she’s accepted as reality. Together, the unlikely duo is forced to join forces and fight a whole new face of evil hell-bent on murderous mayhem. To make matters worse, a jealous wolf and bloodthirsty vampire are half a step behind, hungry for a taste of what they can’t have.

Carol Atta Well, I figured out how to add my book covers ... duh? I feel a bit, well, dumb. But I most certainly am not a dummy. Just a bit technically challenged at times. However, I have tons on my mind. Birthday Book Release Party (planning stages), Upcoming retreat that I'm speaking at (a week away), Promoting books, Working (40 hours a week), Doing all the "author stuff," Oh did I mention I have son in college, a 14 year old daughter with a bit of an attitude, 4 pets, and my awesome mom who lives with me. One thing I'm NEVER EVER EVER (as Taylor Swift would sing)is bored. Oh, and I may be collaborating soon with another author, Claudia Cunningham, Biting Back (amazing recovery book). Phew. Welcome to my world.

Carol Atta I must not be as computer savvy as I thought. I'm having a horrible time making this site work the way I want. Now I have to learn Twitter too. Yikes!
