Through 91K in CHEMICAL AGENT. And if you have not pre-ordered THE LONG CRIMSON LINE, you should. You should.
Crossed 40K in CHEMICAL AGENT/JJ7 the other day. And I managed to update my spreadsheet this morning.Including this month's sales to date (but not including Apple), I'm at 9,855 books (ebooks, ink and paper, audio) sold lifetime.
145 away from 10,000.
Up to 35,000 words in Chemical Agent. Now on Cape Cod until tomorrow, and should get back to writing on Monday or Tuesday.
20,000 words into the new Jaclyn Johnson novel. Coming right along. Have a couple of things to do before I start writing today.
So I've had a busy few days. I listened to the audiobook for DOUBLE AGENT; I sent some corrections, and Laura said she'd have them to me next week. Awesome.Read THE LONG CRIMSON LINE. I wrote that at the tail end of last year. It's vivid. It's bloody. And it may be one of the best things I've ever written. It's off to an alpha.
And today, I start writing the first draft of the seventh Jaclyn Johnson thriller.
Bracing for more snow this weekend. Uncle!Besides, that gives me more indoor time, and time working on my next project.
Reader:Sean Sweeney had me sitting on the edge of my seat, chewing nails, giggling at Snapshot and Scouser, and then tears!!! #TravelAgent ROCKED!!!!!!!
More snow over the next 48 hours. I wonder if I build an igloo if I can get a WiFi signal in there.....Taking the weekend to recharge, which is also known as doing everything my wife tells me to do.
I think--think--I'm halfway through the outline for JJ7. More work today. In unrelated news, it won't freaking stop snowing. I'm going to tie a white t-shirt to my shovel and stick it in the snowbanking out front.
Received a note from a reader who just started TRAVEL AGENT today: "So far so GREAT!!! But what else would I get from you?!"And two five-star reviews so far.
Printed up my notes last night and today started outlining the story. Got through four chapters today. This will be a multi-day endeavor, I think.
Sold a BUNCH of TRAVEL AGENTs so far. Keep 'em coming, gang.
Back into brainstorming mode for JJ7. Will be doing this most of the day, and will be for the next couple of weeks, I think. But you never know!
First reader review for TRAVEL AGENT is in; it's amazing how it takes a month to brainstorm/plot, three months to write (thanks, weddings and World Cup), then the editing process.... and the first reader breezes through it less than 24 hours."He's done it again! Great read, another awesome installment in the Agent series. Some unexpected twists and a great ending. Can't wait for book 7!"
5 stars by the reader on Amazon.
So TRAVEL AGENT, the newest Jaclyn Johnson novel, is now available!US Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Travel-Agent-Th...

OK, in a re-writing hangover after a long day today. Possibly writing a blog tonight or tomorrow morning on my observations.
Through the battle scene, up to where Radamuck and Co. meet Kirkrik Dannell. And now to get to the scene where Grumpet makes his first appearance.Scary to think that I've added so much content to this story.
Awesome writing day this morning: 2,332 words. Should get to the first major battle of the book tomorrow.
Had planned on a bit of writing before shoving off, but I think that will wait until we get home... or even tomorrow.
Happy 123rd birthday to Professor Tolkien. Alas, twelvity-three years is far too short a time to spend among such excellent and admirable hobbits. I know half of you half as well as I'd like, and I like less than half of you half as much as you deserve.
First book of 2015 sold yesterday was THE LONE BOSTONIAN, followed by REDEEMED, TURNING BACK THE CLOCK, SIDETRACKED, and AN INVITATION TO DRINK...OR TO DIE.So we're starting the new year on the right foot.
A Happy New Year to everyone from Jen and I. We're currently on Cape Cod; coming home tomorrow. Short visit. Working on the plot outline to JJ7, but I may work on the re-write in a bit.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas.
So Foster's book is out. It's pretty good, so check that out. THE LONE BOSTONIAN is out for me, check that out. And I'm trying to stay in the zone regarding the re-write... but I may need a new car, so... yeah.
THE LONG CRIMSON LINE = First draft, complete.TRAVEL AGENT (Jaclyn Johnson No. 6) = Off to betas.
THE OBLOERON TRILOGY = About to be re-written from scratch.
Yep. From Scratch.
Deep into the third draft. More today, surrounding a dentist's appointment.Hey, if you're into Urban Fantasy, make sure you check out Foster Haskell's work, especially the forthcoming Apprentice of the Rain. He is my wife's cousin, and he's absolutely brilliant.
34 pages into the revisions. Jotted some notes down for a second new scene. Coming along, making it a better book.
Just finished the first major edit of INCINERATION--but I think I have a better title for it. I'll input changes tomorrow, brainstorm a scene that I'll tag on to the end of Ch. 1, and then possibly write another scene at the end. It feels too short at the moment, but we'll see how it goes. May send to an alpha reader to get recommendations on additions.
In the midst of editing INCINERATION. It's better than I had originally given credit.Happy Book Day to Rick Chesler.
Well, I've ignored Goodreads for way too long. Hello there! I'm currently working on a new book, entitled INCINERATION. I'm about 16,000 words into it, and it's coming along very well. Seven chapters in.
First book sold of the year: a copy of Redeemed. Makes me a happy author.
Check in soon.
Finished writing PROMISES GIVEN, PROMISES KEPT today. A bit shy of 21K, a little more work to clean it up of course... but the first draft, she is done.
130,070 words. I think 135K by Wednesday evening sounds like a rather good goal to reach, don't you?
Got to 122,002 words today. Either tomorrow or Saturday, I'll make it to 125,000... and even 125,225. That last figure represents what will be the longest book I've ever written.
Just did some math. DOUBLE AGENT ended up being 125,224 words when it was all said and done, my longest novel ever. That said, I only have 8,320 words to go in REDEEMED to tie that number. And with the pace I'm setting... I could have it by this weekend. Three days' worth of work if I stay focused.
3,135 words today. Brings me up to 116,904 words in the project. Another day like today, and I'll be at 120K tomorrow.
Hi gang.Going to hit 115K on REDEEMED today. Spent a good portion of yesterday afternoon sketching out the next 12-13 scenes, which should help me breeze through most of the rest of the book, but now I can see the end a little more clearer.
Sitting at 106,652 in REDEEMED, and I think I wrote the last sex scene of the book. 34 chapters finished.
If you're interested, KindleObsessed.com did an author spotlight on me today: http://www.kindleobsessed.com/sarcasm...
1,550 words by 10 a.m.? Yeah, I'll take it... stopping there. 33 chapters done. 103,600 words total for the project. 20,050 words in 2013. The only question is do I write tomorrow, or take tomorrow off?
