Paul! I just ordered Kelland and can't wait to get started on it. I hope you're well. I don't particularly like this cold Californian weather....and have been missing "home" a lot lately ; ) Aloha! -LaviniaPS: sorry if you get this comment a ba-jillion times on your facebook. That darn thing kept freezing then deleting then making me jump through hoops, and in the end, the comment still wouldn't post! So hopefully I have more luck with goodreads!
Wow Paul, you're a celeb! A well-rounded celeb since it seems like you've done so much in the entertainment field. kudos! I'll have to look up and research your movie. Sounds Asian-inspired, considering all the Asian actors. Cool beans. Tamlyn swears a lot? Does she drink like a fish too because that'd make her right up my ally! I kid, I kid.
I remember meeting her a few years ago at some function in Cali. Boy, is she beautiful and energetic. She did such a bang up job too in Joy Luck Club. Amazing actress. Didn't she break out in the Karate Kid #2 movie too or something? Interesting!
Well, Paul, you just keep getting more and more interesting. I am glad to have met you through Casperian.
Have a great rest of the week, and maybe I'll find your Hawaiian novel in one of the small bookstores on the island. Take care!

Hi Lavina!
I actually know Picture Bride really well...in fact my ex and I went to see it with Tamlyn (who is the coolest person on the planet) when it premiered. BTW, Tamlyn can also swear like a sailor. (I produced one movie in my life...it was Tamlyn, her then husband Stan Egi, Dustin Nguyen, Garrett Wang, Keiko Agena (who is from Hawai'i), Darion Basco and Lindsay Price...about a dozen years ago now).
"Moloka'i" is also really brilliant as it spans 60 years of the lead characters' life as a patient at Kalaupapa.
Definitely let me know if you find any new reads on O'ahu. Always looking for great new stuff from my wanna-be home.
Cheers!
Hey Paul, thought I'd go directly to the source instead of stay on that one discussion board.I'll have to check those books out. Honolulu sounds a lot like that one movie called Picture Bride. Have you seen it? Tamlyn Tomita rocks a pidgin accent. It's pretty interesting.
Maybe I'll find some cool reads on Oahu to check out. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting.
Thanks for the book suggestions!!!
