Marilynne Robinson was the first literary giant who encouraged my dogged pursuit toward completion of REBIRTH IN ACADI, my novel that was released in late March. She is such an insightful reader and writer. I only wish I could duplicate her efforts. Do you mean that you studied with Elizabeth Strout? Now that would be a dream come true.

So jealous that you studied under Marilynne Robinson in Iowa. I have read all of her novels, some of them twice. HOME is probably my favorite, though Gilead is so so powerful. I lived in Des Moines for 17 years and discovered I could take classes at the U of Iowa every summer. So I did. Elizabeth Strout! Anyway, keep reading and enjoying, Beth Havey
