Martin Dressler The Tale of an American Dreamer may have been the first book I read as a real adult, but I never stopped reading, so I think that it may have been the book that made me an adult, or at least ushered me towards adulthood. It's taken me seven or eight years to be able to even describe my feelings for it with any kind of accuracy, so I'm glad they resonated with you.
