Hi Richard.
The more I delve into this topic the more I discover that governments have been aware of artificially induced EMPs in warfare and there are perhaps more crude protective mechanisms in place than I have given them credit for. However I speculate that a naturally occuring CME could be far more powerful than the above and we are more sensitive to it now than ever.

Steve, My comment was of course meant to be humorous. However my ride did come late and the problem was on their end. I do get annoyed when my daily routine is messed with.
