Mike Thanks for the friend invite, D.B. It's difficult to recommend a favorite book because there are so many that strike me in many different ways. Over the past 5 years though the following have really struck a chord with me.

1. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
2. The Last Child by John Hart
3. A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron
4. The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson
5. The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
6. The Shadow of The Wind by Carlos Ruis Zafon
7. Little Black Lies by Sharon Bolton

Just a few of my favorites. Looking forward to future bookish discussions. Happy reading in the meantime.

Mona Garg Thanks for the friend invite :) Thrillers are my favorite genre. Recent ones I really enjoyed are Pop Goes the Weasel (Helen Grace, #2) by M.J. Arlidge and The Stranger by Harlan Coben .

Also, Jennifer Hillier is a favorite. Her Creep by Jennifer Hillier and Freak by Jennifer Hillier are two of the best I've ever read.

Chris Thanks for the adding. I recommend Elmer Kelton for good westerns and good stories. I have read more than 30 of his books. I really enjoy his style. The time it never rained is his most popular and there are the 3 Hewey Calloway books that are great or there are his 9 books in his Texas rangers series or his sons of Texas trilogy.

Thanks for accepting, Candace. Eager to see your rating of The Queen of the Night.

Candace Hi D.B. Thx for f.r. I don't hang out in Historical Fictionistas, I've found anther H.F. group that is a better fit for me. But I am open to chat about books and follow friends book reviews. Currently I'm reading the original, musical, lovely The Queen of the Night . (May be based on Mozart opera ? , just slipped my mind, but obviously The Queen of the Night is a major character and a soprano in it.) I like H.F. based on very famous people (usually) so this is a little different for me,but cover grabbed me.

Gary Sundell Thank you for the friend request. As for recommendations, it depends on what you like. The first "kept me up all night so I could finish it" thriller I read when I was in college was The Odessa File . I need to re-read it and catch up on more of Forsyth's work.
