What tenacity does it takes to delve to the truth of a thing, once the bones of the truth have been laid bare is that it? Sometimes that is, other times you have to suck the marrow from those bones. Take that marrow and make butter out of it, spread on a slice of justice and enjoy a nice truth sandwich, chase it with a nice shot of bitters, because it may be hard to swallow.

That is how you put a nice spin, or twist on a story, because truth is alway a matter of perspective. A story is a lot like truth, lay it bare to the bones, suck the marrow out of it and make it something worth reading.

Maybe you're just part of a back story for someone more important than you, and once your scene is done the props are taken down and placed in storage. Keep looking... up for that boom mike that every now and then drops down within the camera's view. While thinking about that try not to think about the fact that sometimes the scenes you think are vital are left on the cutting room floor by others.

How sad is that, your life lies covered in dust in some storage shed, too mundane to bother viewing. Filed along with millions of others, an infinte wasteland of the mundane, gathering dust, and over time becoming it...

"Midnight Train" by Static Movement just came out on Amazon, I have a short story in the end of the book and a couple of poems, but what impressed me most was the stories by other authors in that book. Some books you are more proud to be a part of than others and this one shines.

Loneliness Flashes in the Dark.

If humor were an ice cream would it be fattening?

It’s the middle of the night and a baby’s cries can be heard echoing in the silent home. He gets up groggily from his bed, and staggers sleepily down the hall to the baby’s room. It’s dark inside and the baby’s cries are louder.
“It’s OK little one” he reaches over and turns on the light, turning towards the baby’ crib. He steps back in shock. Inside the crib is a small child with a squid shaped head, tentacles flailing helplessly, as it cries.

He sits up in bed, covered in a cold sweat, “Damn, what a nightmare”, he mumbles. Down the hall the baby starts to cry again. Turning he shakes his wife awake. “You need to go this time” he says, and rolling over, goes back to sleep. Grumbling as she gets out of bed, she reaches down and grabs the open can of sardines and walks out the door.

PS - From late night walks along moonless paths, telling ghost stories, to bon fires on the Oregon coastline late at night, the tales have passed father to son. If you can't scare the ones who trust you, than you sure as hell won't be able to scare the ones who don't!!!

Always enjoy making new friends, and finding old ones. The only thing better is time spent with family, and a good laugh. In June of last year, after staying silent for more than twenty years, I decided to write again, and see something in print. I may not have written anything, however I knew the web, social media, and self promotion. Since last June I expanded facebook from 125 to 2,700, many of which are writers, editors and such. Next I started several blogs, twitter, and LinkedIn, and cross networked. I'm happy to say that I've seen ten short stories go into print, finished a novel, which I need to edit, and am putting together a collection of short horror stories. It looks like Nick Rose will do the cover, and Sammi Cox at Panic Press has told me she'll give it a look over.
Humor, well that's a part of everything I am, as I told my wife today, "I bought a scratch ticket today, and it said, find three like amounts and you've won. I found three amounts that I personally really liked, but they refused to pay!!"
