No flying projectiles from me! YA isn't my preferred genre, but I've been trying to expand my reading preferences. I also really liked Anna Dressed in Blood (a male protagonist), Angelfall (a self pub'd book), and The Opposite of Invisible (a YA that isn't paranormal or post-apocalyptic).
Have you read Charlaine Harris's Lily Bard series? It's an adult suspense series. Talk about risk taking and brave. That's a great series. I wish she would've written more books in that series.
