Hi Beth,Thank you so much for friending me! I have seen your books before and wanted to read them! What part or Era of the Ottoman Empire have you researched? I've been researching the early 19th century, basically the Regency period in Britain, but the reign of Selim III and Mahmud II for about 10 years for my book. Have you been to Turkey? I was born in Izmir, my father is from Istanbul, my mother Izmir. Thank you for reaching out to me! I look forward to reading your books. Which one is the one set in the Ottoman Empire? I think it's the one I marked "to read." Take Care.

It's lovely to meet another person with an interest in Ottoman history. I thought from your name you must have Turkish connections. I've visited izmir many years ago. My husband was Turkish [from Ankara] and we taught at Ataturk University in Erzurum for 5 years. I'm very interested in Sultan Selim III and also Sultan Mahmud II and my stories do mention them. I've written short articles on them on my blog. http://regencytales.blogspot.com -Difficult times:the reign of Sultan Selim III 27/01/13 and - Reforming Rulers 2, Sultan Mahmud II 26/01/16. I went to visit the little palace where Sultan Selim spent his summers, and used it as the home for my hero in Scandalous Lady, set in 1811. The story you've marked to read is also set partly in Constantinople in 1804.
Good luck with your novel. Best wishes, Beth
