My first in a series of three novels traces the comings and goings of the men and women who emigrated to Buffalo's rough-and-tumble 1st ward, most of whom Irish, and their rise to power in the city government. History has forgotten the diabolical FINGY CONNERS, who enslaved thousands of families in a downward spiral of poverty and hopelessness. My goal is in part to bring this man, who during his lifetime had few personal trials or tribulations, to task. He was directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds. No one was allowed to get in the way of his making a dollar.
