Francis Katie:

This is from the Jacksonville, FL library Fantasy & SF newsletter. They mentioned you and your book!

The Last Heir to Blackwood Library
by Hester Fox

Yorkshire, England, 1925: Ivy Radcliffe inherits Blackwood Abbey and its mysterious library, which may be responsible for the untimely deaths of the estate's previous residents.

Reviewers say: This "atmospheric historical fantasy" (Publishers Weekly) full of ghostly visitors, strange happenings, and sinister locals harboring secrets makes "a fine addition to the gothic genre" (Booklist).

Rishi Hi Katie,
I have been following you on YT for a while now (That sounded creepy and sinister) just a random question, in Victorian Literature we read and hear a lot about Governesses but not so much in Regency and Georgian books, Why is that?

There will certainly be another one next year!

Jonathan Thank you, Katie, for inviting me to the Jane Austen readathon. It is is a bad time for me to start it. I can't commit to a month-long readathon because I have been dealing with some issues at home. I hope you host another one next year.

Not a Penguin English Library, but I'd recommend Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day as a great light summer classic read. Otherwise, go for some Jane Austen, some Barbara Pym or Wilkie Collins. If you tell me a few of your favourite classics, I can recommend some more specifically for you!

Janneke Hey Katie,

Within a few weeks time I am going on vacation to France. Because of your enthousiasm I started with Barchester Towers (I know that The Warden is the first in this series but I've heard tales that it is not a very interesting story and not that important).

I am afraid that one book is not enough for me as I am a fast reader. Do you know any classic books (Penguin English Library) for me that is fun to read in the summer?

Thanks a lot!
