House of Flame and Shadow (Crescent City, #3) by Sarah J. Maas

1 highlight

“Most people tell me I should be over her passing. But …” Her shoulders bowed. “I don’t know if there will ever come a day when I don’t feel like there’s a hole in my heart where she used to be.”

Nightbane (Lightlark, #2)

by Alex Aster

2 notes & 27 highlights

“One blue eye so light, it’s nearly white, with a wicked scar slashing straight down through it. And one brown eye so dark, it appears obsidian. I can still see his features clearly, even with the black hood drawn over his head. And right now, utter relief is staring right back at me.”
― H.D. Carlton, Hunting Adeline

“I was right, Wildling,” he said, sounding quite pleased with himself. She heard his voice before falling into another memory. “You are the only person living who is able to turn death . . . into life.”
― Alex Aster, Nightbane

“This beautiful woman holds my life in the palm of her hand, she’s just incapable of seeing it that way.”

“Every time I see you, I think the gods must play favorites. Every time you’re near me, I am overcome with the urge to bed you, to have you, again and again. I want to devour every inch of you, until you’re all I taste, until you are shaking with pleasure in my arms. That is what I want.”
